Im travelling on the 07.30 from Gatwick to Venice BA flight in Economy class, in a couple of weeks. Im wondering if they serve a hot breakfast on this route (sausage, scrambled egg etc) or some awful panini baguette?

probably the pannini baguette, that's what we get when we go from manchester to heathrow and it is probably the same for venice.

But Man to LHR is a domestic service. LGW-VEN is not!
Well LHR to Split (Croatia) is those awful panini things, so based on the law of probabilities ...........

Yes-I think that they only serve a hot breakfast on Business Class now. What a shame for a once great airline. More like BS than BA.
Heathrow to Paris was a cheese and ham roll for breakfast
How long is the flight an hour ish? Can't you live without food for that long?
Question Author
An hourish to Venice? You don't travel much do you? Do you take caravan holidays in Norwich?
Gatwick-Venice is over 2 hours, so if you don't fancy a panini maybe you could get something at the airport before you board?
To be honest I have had the non panini breakfast on BA and I always swerve the eggs anyway. Buy a BLT in the terminal, much better.

Thanks for your suggestions. Im curious as Im travelling with my parents who are in their sixties and expecting a warm breakfast on BA like they used to serve in the old days.
OOhhh 2 hours and not an hour whoopee do. Just buy a Boots meal deal before you get onboard much better value.
Or of course you could just check with BA

Oh the reverend is such a wiseguy *rolls eyes*
Took this flight about a month ago - it was the panini thingie
and some juice and a yoghurt I seem to remember.

Thanks very much Auntiebertie!
every time I have been with BA recently it has been a sandwich in 2 parts, one of which is an inedible chicken tikka. I have written to them about it as it is horrible!
Question Author
grasscarp-I doubt they will pay attention to you. Their sandwiches are indeed horrible. Its a shame that BA has gone down this route. Look at it like this: If easyjet fly to the same airport, but are 40 cheaper...is that "complimentary food and drink" that BA provide really worth the extra cost?
Question Author
The sandwich choice I always get is the chicken tikka or tuna and sweetcorn. Both are disgusting. My sister has been ordering Kosher meal for the past 2 years as she claims the food is better!
a resounding no! Enjoy your trip.
Question Author
Thanks grasscarp. Will be flying into Venice and flying back from Pisa with BA :P
