Hi i need to buy a knee support and wanted to know if the hinged version allows for more flexiblity or less... I currently have a thick padded neoprene one that allows a fair bit of movement but wanted to know if the hinged versions allow for more movement.. i wear it all day as i am runnign around all the time so need the flexibility

Hi mollymoo, I have used the hinged version of the neoprene ones for many years. They can be a bit heavy after you've worn them all day, but they do stop the knee joint from moving out of line (sideways) and do give far more support. I've just had both knees replaced, so don't plan to use them anymore. Well, not quite true - I did use one today, as I over-used my new knees on a long trip and was suffering the consequences. I much prefer the hinged supports to the plain neoprene ones. If you do get one and do want to wash it some time, it is easy to take out the hinge before washing the support in the washing machine. Best of luck! :o)
