Ok so maybe more a body and soul question, but hey its about xmas too and thought I'd try you lot out. I'm in a dilemma. I have a 'mate' who gradually over the past year we havent really spoken and I used to go round hers every Sunday but now I'm lucky if I get invited. Anyway last week she was having a poker night well her bloke was, but my mates were invited and you'd think she'd think of me sat at home and invite me. Anyway I was going out anyway so text her to ask her if she'd got my xmas card and to have a nice night. Then I got a message back which I assume was for her bloke saying. '4getmenot just text me to ask if I got card and said have a nice time, D must have told her about tonite' I text back saying think that was meant for someone else and yes D did tell me. Anyway she said she didn't know who her hubbie had invited and just wondered how I knew and the message wasn't nasty. How would you lot take it? Anyway that isn't the dilemma, this morning I get into work and theres a present on my desk from her! The thing is we don't even normally buy eachother xmas presents, so what do I do? I would know I was only buying her one because she got me one.

If it was me I wouldnt buy her anything. Shes probably got it out of guilt because she realises that shes hurt you by not inviting you.

You could always text her by mistake and say 'X just left a pressie at work for me, wonder if shes forgotten where I live' lol

Just to add, a personally delivered apology would have gone a lot further than a pressie dropped off with no word.
Sisters, sisters there was never such devoted sisters, lol

but thats if she was being nasty, its up to her who her husband invites and she said she was busy that night cutting hair. so I'm not sure, but we dont buy eachother anything at xmas anyway, so I am a bit miffed. She just txt to say it was just something she saw and had to get me
devoted? you must be joking pea pod!
well then if you dont think it was a guilt thing then you can either say that youre sorry but you havnt got her anything as you never exchange pressies with her or you can rush out and buy her something because you now feel obligated to.

I text her and said 'didnt think we bought for eachother' might just get her a drink xmas eve.
4getmenot - why don't you just make her some cookies and/or candy and drop them off to wish her a Merry Christmas - and let the rest slip away - it is the Christmas spirit:)

Me make cookies!! That would be funny and put a smile on her face. Thank you, you sound lovely :-)
if cookies are not a usual source of food poisoning, they would be if 4get made them :)
lol ok if cookies are too difficult - you can either buy the pre-made ones and pop them in the oven or make these - no cooking:)
