I was told today that it is a good idea to "ferment" the files on my PC to save hard drive space.
Anybody aware of such a procedure and if so how it is done and what it entails?

Many thanks

Its called Defragmenting

1. Open My Computer.
2. Right-click the local disk volume that you want to defragment, and then click Properties.
3. On the Tools tab, click Defragment Now.
4. Click Defragment.
This will not free up any disk space. It will just "Re-organise" your files so your computer will run more efficiently.
