Amongst details buried in the finance bill Sunak will raise APD.Air Passenger Tax on all UK flights.But the luxury flight loving Pm will not raise this tax for private jets and helicopters like he and his Tory friends enjoy This means joe public and his family will be paying an extra £7 a head when they go on holiday.

Have you got a link to evidence the "extra £7 " please- I thought APD was just going up in line with RPI as usually happens and as was confirmed in the Spring budget

It's an extra 50p, the tax is going from £6.50 to £7. Or £1 from £13 to £14 for business class.

I'm sure gulliver wasn't attempting to mislead- he probably just got the wrong end of the stick again.

Or maybe he meant an extra £7 compared to the time before APD was introduced (at £5) 30 years ago.

Do private jets pay Air Passenger Duty?

Private flights on small or medium sized private jets will pay APD. However some small and Very Light Jets (VLJs) are exempt due to their lower weights - such as the popular Citation Mustang (weighing just 3.9 tonnes).

If all the duty is passed on to the passengers then a family of four will pay £56 in tax on a return domestic flight.The increase this year comes after the govt slashed this tax in half in bid to get more Brits flying domestically despite the fact this form of transport is 14 times more polluting than going by train

Ha- I see you typed that out, copying it from the Mirror but with a few typos and abbreviations. So according to the Mirror joe public's flights go up 50p and private jet fees will be unchanged, so do you feel billionaire Sunak has fixed things to save him 50p a time?
