Our Village Is Doing A Scarecrow Festival

each house is going to put a homemade one outside there home, local pub is putting legs upright and sticking out of a large barrel the owner has purchased, any ideas?

There is a village near me which does this every year. We could be speaking about the same place

first time for ours 5leaves but a nearby village does it regularly. Tanfield? the only other one I have seen is in the Y Dales at Kettlewell

Normally it's what you are known for so if you keep a beautiful garden and are always seen in the garden you're scarecrow would be a gardener with some of your features so what are you known for in your village and play on that

During lockdown our village had a scarecrow display.  I made a maypole and had little Barbie & Sindy dolls dancing around it.  Someone made a lovely Flowerpot Man - someone else did a 'Headless horseman' with lots of blood!

If you can get your hands on an old bicycle you could make use of that and do a LEZ or lycra fanatic themed one Bobbi.

I saw a great one of a woman scarecrow at a bus stop with her arm stuck out but we live in a pedestrian only street ,thanks for those Chris
