What does "Advanced on" mean?

That is poor grammar and out of context is difficult to define.

Advanced means 'moved forward' or 'progressed'.  

Can it also mean 'made a move on' as in ' chatting up or making an advance???

Maybe give us an example of a sentence or phrase with it in that you heard or read

"The army advanced on Moscow"

I'd just pay by card...makes tipping awkward though. I went to one country though where they didn't take them...think it was German Town so paid euros cash.
