Just curious, most of you know I’m self employed. Spend my week delivering and collecting orders. Weeks ago I delivered an order to a regular customer. Her neighbour, who I’d never spoken to before, came out and asked if she could order a specific product.
I said sure, and ordered it for her.
It arrived and I went todeliver it. She was out. I tried 3 times. Gave up and left it in her porch, with a note saying please ring me on this number to arrange payment..... never got a call.
So next time I was in that area I put a hand written note through door saying same thing. Again no response.
Now, my brain is saying just forget it, she’s stitched you up, but the other half is saying she’s taking the absolute ***...... your Thoughts ??

I’m sure you have asked similar before and was advised hard lessons learned and to get payment before handling the goods over.
Smow, why would you give credit to someone you don't know? There are so many people out there who have no morals whatsoever, and are quite happy to rob from you.
Smow, people do seem to take advantage of your kind nature - the homeless guy you helped, the difficult tenant. I would persevere, as it would rankle with me; she must be in sometime!
And yes, she is taking the absolute ***

Yes I’ve been stupid, but I guess my brain was saying that she is next door to a lovely regular customer and that they must chat at some point.........

I’m being a complete wally then.....l
No money, no goods .
You know the old saying Snowy " A good turn never go unpunished"
You cant turn back the clock Smowball, so just keep perstering her for the money. Tell her neighbour about it, bang on the door, leave so many notes she gets fed up with you and keep on until she pays you.
Get someone to go to her house when you know she will be in and get them to say they are there to collect the money on behalf of the company you get the goods from.
Speak to the neighbour who's a regular customer about it. Unless this is just a hobby you need to develop your business head...
If she persists in ignoring you just go around about 8.00am- if she's still out go at 7.00am and so on... and make your next letter if she still ignores it a letter before legal proceedings- then take her to county court- dead simple online thing- because no-one wants a CCJ (unless they already have several in which case you have indeed been done up like a kipper... :(

It’s not even a lot of money - my mind is just going why is she not paying ? I wouldn’t even consider not paying someone.
And as for knocking on the door and 8am, 7am, and so on, what good is that going to do? If the woman is not going to answer the door it doesn't matter what time you knock on it. Smowball, I would just put the incident down to experience and not repeat that kind of a transaction in the future.

I agree sanmac x
Stick a dog turd through her letterbox, Smow, the softer the better. Then, although you are out of pocket, you will have the satisfaction of imagining her having to clean the mess up.
Time is money. Stop wasting your precious time fretting over one bad decision, put it down to experience, and be smarter next time.
Oh no I disagree, bang on the door at all hours until you get the money.

All that will do is that the person will call the police and accuse Smowball of harassment, etc. There's no paper trail of this transaction, so all the person needs to say is that it never happened.
