Saturday. A lot warmer outside this morning. With a bit of luck I won't have to dress up like an Eskimo to go to the farmers market. No idea what is on this afternoon. I might go for lunch somewhere.

The new resident in Tiggy Towers seems to have settled in.

Have a happy day everyone

Good morning Boaty. A welcome increase in temperature here too.
Question Author
Morning arrods. Dare we think spring is on it's way?

How are you this morning?
You never know with our weather do you? All fine here. Plastering has been done and the kitchen floor has been levelled. Floor tiles have arrived ready for fitting from Monday. Big job for me is to remove the downstairs toilet cistern as the same tiles will be going in that room too. Wish me luck!
Question Author
I do indeed wish you luck with that!
Take great care with that cistern, they are heavy!
It'll look grand when it's all done.
I will Boaty! The scariest job will be reinstalling it though. I'll have to drill through porcelain floor tiles to screw it down. From the Internet, even the professionals acknowledge drilling porcelain 'ain't easy. Only two holes to drill though and, with the right drill bit (diamond tipped), I live in hope.
We haven't seen hedgehogs around here for years, even as road kill. We did have one in our garage, hibernating under a pile of old clothes. We do have a 'problem' with badgers though. Maybe they have something to do with it.
Question Author
Start with a small drill bit, then a slightly larger one and so on. Don't use too much pressure on the drill. It's worth taking a little bit longer!
Morning boaty xxx would you like to have a quick check over on KM .....not sure if you we're just confirming this weeks link words or what exactly !
Question Author
Morning seekz xxx Have I mucked it up again? :o{
That was my thought too Boaty but, from what I've gathered, the best drill bit is one specially designed for porcelain. Oddly enough, it doesn't have a point and it's actually flat across the tip. Trick is to keep the bit wet to dissipate heat, as that's what shortens their life. Patience is certainly the key though. It can take more than 10 minutes to get through the porcelain.

That's the one mate!
Question Author
Ta steff. I must remember to wake up and engage brain before doing anything.

How's things down there?
Question Author
arrods, alternatively you could use a glass drill, That would be a bit quicker.
Hadn't thought of that Boaty. Will investigate.
Cooler, thanks, by about 25odd degrees !!
Question Author
I wish it was that temperature here! Still; summer is on it's way...I hope!
Question Author
arrods, once you've gone through the glaze you can switch to a masonry drill.
Yes Boaty, that's the plan!
Question Author
Excellent. :o}
