We have an brand new Aldi just opened in Bedford.

I'm going to go tomorrow for a look-see. Any recommendations for 'must buys' from seasoned Aldi shoppers?

^ The steak^
Yes - it's very good indeed - make sure it is 'Black Label Specially Selected' though - then sort through the packs for ones that you like the look of - some are thicker, some are leaner, some are better trimmed.
Their authentic Greek yogurt...As good as Total, but a lot cheaper.
Pate,cheeses,cold meats,...Loads.
Their selection of cheeses and sliced meats is pretty good too - lots of interesting varieties.

They sometimes have a very good Pork Pie (in a red checker box) - but that seems to be seasonal.
I agree wit pasta - the full fat greek yogurt is splendid - no additives, just good creamy yogurt.
Fruit and salad can be a bit variable - cheap, but it doesn't always last very long at home - but most vegetables are excellent - their leeks are lovely at the moment.
I used to pay a lot for brand name dishwasher tablets but switched to aldis own make, the dishes come out cleaner and its a fraction of the price. It came out tops in aWhich magazine survey
and beat all the well known brands.
On the negative side, their baked beans are terrible - but tins of tomatoes and cardboard packs of passata are great value.
Olive oil, tinned tomatoes, granola, kitchen roll, Cava, tissues, British meat, salt/pepper etc, nuts, frozen fruits, poached/smoked salmon, cheese, papadums, Veetee pilau rice
Their "Aloe Vera" loo roll is good - not the cheapest, but better than most.
And Almat laundry liquid
Yes - 237sj - the olive oils are all pretty good & the balsamic vinegar is ridiculously cheap for the quality.
Yes, I think I have some of their balsamic in the cupboard. I suspect that their squeezy blossom honey might actually be Rowse blossom honey.
Own brand peanuts and cashews, for your nibbles. I love their falafels, coleslaw, Italian breads. Do they a range of mousses and new flavours include butterscotch and coffee.
Chile Merlot
Bratwurst
sea salt and black peppercorn mills 'Kania' are about 5 times cheaper than regular stores, I like the spray deodorant, it doesn't have an ingredient in it that others have that chokes me, facial wipes and moisturisers are good, when the gardening week is on, they have great bargains, everyday you can pick up some little plant or seeds for the garden, here's some special buys on sale from tomorrow - worth browsing
