I have to now think seriously of taking bath out and putting in a walk in shower. Anybody know roughly how much it would cost.

thanks zacs - friend paid £2,000 for that - but to me she was ripped off - shower is terrible looking.
Ah, bejaazus she was ripped off an-all an-all. T b sure.
have a shower put into the bath

also you might think of getting your GP to refer you to an health assessment - I have a pole in my bathroom which is very useful for grappling and getting into and out of the bath ( when I shower )
also they may put in handle bars each side of the bog
( free of course )
Get a few estimates before making any commitment Jenny.
Ok ok £475 and that's my final,offer!

Peter - that is what I have at the mo - shower over the bath which is pretty good - a power shower. But friends and cousin are worried about me lifting the oul leg over the bath etc and falling of course.

Will of course get some estimates.

Simples - bath with a friend.... ;-0
Until you get sorted you could invest in a Bath Board, then you aren't climbing but just gently swinging your legs over.

I'm sure there'll be a supplier in your area.
Until your breaks heal don't be attempting to climb if there's no one nearby please.

£500 sounds very low.

Taking account of the possible need to retile/floor given you are removing a bath the cost would be considerably somewhat more.

i watched a home show by linda barker - yesterday - and a lady converted - and it looked lovely - she did put in a new sink, toilet etc - worked out £3,500 - no i would go about £1,500 but that would be it.
it cost me 2,000 for the whole works, including a pump because the water pressure wasn't high enough.
Isn't your nephew a plumber? Get him round to give you a quote or at the very least guide you.
if you are in London i could give you the name of the builders, they did a good job.
