There are two films that I am glad that I watched once but could never watch again:

Schindler's List
The Exorcist

The first because it was very harrowing first time and I think it would be diluted on a second viewing.

The second because I was frightened out of my skin when I watched it at 12 but I would probably find it hilariously bad now.

Any films you feel the same about?

There are loads of films I could never watch again because they bored me, Cupid. Are there any films that you loved but could never watch a second time?
Also . . .

Battleship Potemkin - I know it's been voted the best film of all time on several occasions (and features in the 'all-time top ten' of many other lists) but I found it hard work to watch and once was enough for me.
A Japanese horror film called The Grudge because it scared the life out of me!

Carrie and the Omen. Horrors scare me now...

cupid, you have to watch them in the daytime, followed by Tom and Jerry

I can understand falling asleep in front of The Hobbit. I thought Titanic was a dreadful film but I know someone who saw in fifteen times within a couple of months of its release.
