Think the would-be abductors were reported to the police before they had a chance to carry out any plan.
Give ALL our armed forces personnel a radio alarm button which can be activated in an emergency

From the link

///Police are investigating attempted abduction of a serviceman at Aldershot Garrison in Hampshire.
He was grabbed by a man who tried to drag him towards a nearby car.
He told police he knocked the first attacker to the floor and an accomplice, carrying a knife, helped him up before both men fled.///
Baldric, that part of the text refers to the attack at RAF Marham.

The one in Aldershot never happened as a member of the public reported 2 men in a Renault Clio acting suspiciously and the police turned up before anything happened.

Ok, have reread it, you're right.
Bit of a non-event then imho.
I don't think theres a lot of info been released Baldric, so most of the story refers to the Marham incident.

Yours is a pretty sensible idea. A form of panic alarm...but the only issue I can see is, in the event of an attack, how long would it take for a response to be put into action?
I would think that they would aim for an easier target than a service man or woman. Military persons are trained to defend themselves and to disarm a bad guy.

Surely women and children (distasteful as the idea is) would be a easier target.

Love to see them try it on the SAS or RM.
