Rather than go down in popularity, due to his call to ban Muslims from entering the country, judging by the recent polls, support for Donald Trump has obviously increased.

Wheter it is right is of course depending on your opinion. People can gather support saying really wrong things - take ISIS for instance.

Clearly though Trump is striking a chord with many voters who agree with him, or more likely frustrated with the others.
You could say exactly the same of ISIL, their popularity has soared with a certain section of the population since they started beheading innocent people. That doesn't mean they are saying (or doing) something right, any more than a surge in Trump's popularity means that he his saying something right. In both cases it just means there are more nutters in the world than previously thought.

No that is simply YOUR opinion.
Hitler had the same success with demonising the Jews.
What, you think it's reasonable that beheading people increases ISIL's popularity?
I don't think that much of what Trump says is even English, let alone right -- but it's clear that enough people are listening to what he has to say. And if last night's Republican debate is anything to go by, he is still capable of holding his own in debates with the big leagues.

Still, he has another seven weeks to survive before even the first actual votes are cast. Ben Carson, his fellow outsider, is already falling by the wayside.
It may well be that he's the most 'charismatic' of a pretty poor bunch.
As ever, regardless of how these polls place the candidates, once people are in the privacy of the Polling booth, common sense tends to kick in and the official result tells an entirely different story.

Nigel Farage was the 'coming man' right until the results showed otherwise.
This is ironic isn't it , since we apparently have a Muslim president , currently

Whatever you think about Nigel Farage and Ukip, they were robbed. they won 3.9 million votes but ended up with only one MP. Call that democracy?

Well perhaps that will be one who he might get rid of.
didnt he only ask for a temporary ban, not an outright permanent ban on muzzys ?
^He did.

Yes but that truth doesn't carry with it the same type of outrageousness, that some wish to accuse Mr Trump of.
//Hitler had the same success with demonising the Jews.//

I'm sorry but that comment is just plain rediculous.

ISIS are the one comparable to Hitler, TRump is only saying ban them UNTIL the USA gets it's act together over the problem. I have seen nothing saying he intends to engage in genocide, or have I missed something?

TheChair, I see you ignored the Trump side.
TheChair /// You could say exactly the same of ISIL, their popularity has soared with a certain section of the population since they started beheading innocent people.///

I think you've accidentally stumbled on a truth. Now, just for clarity, would you care to name that certain section .
Plymouth Brethren? Baptists? Anglicans?.

exactly AOG...the usual people on here have been twisting it to suit...no surprise there !

So you think he is a Muslim ?
It's a national poll for the republican candidates.
I haven't seen a poll indicating where he would stand where he in a presidential election.
The republicans are in pretty much the same state of alarm as Labour were at the prospect of Jeremy Corbyn becoming leader of that party.
-- answer removed --
I know that they have a different voting system that we do, but even taking that into account, The Republicans are still arguing and bitching away like kittens in a sack, and its less that a year to go till America votes.

Looking at what happened in the latest bunfight at Las Vegas, its hard to see why at least half of them are still in the game.

Hilary and the Democratic Party must be thinking that all their birthdays and Xmases have come at once !
