Does he expect any sympathy?

Most football fans would not mind if he HAD joined the angels.
I would agree that Blatter can expect no sympathy for a stress condition that is entirely self-inflicted.

Even if he had been as honest as the day is long - that level of pressure is not a sound career move for a man of his age.

Adding in the endless chicanery and lying he pumps out on a daily basis, that level of stress can do nothing but increase.

He is receiving a dose of hubris that is almost as gargantuan as his arrogance and dishonesty - maybe that will make him consider others than himself and his lust for power - such as his family, who love him in spite of what he is.
I think that if I were a money grubbing, corrupt, narcissistic, haughty old man who had constructed a complex web of lies to maintain my position and status, I'd be quite stressed if my crimes were uncovered and exposed to the world.

The prospect of spending the rest of his life behind bars must be weighing heavily on his mind. Bless.
