Tellingly Romania and Belgium today ruled out any treaty changes which attack the granting of benefits to migrants saying that it is fundamental to the EU's philosophy that such benefits are afforded to all. So that seems about that then.

Can an injection of new blood be such a bad thing? These people have the gumption to look at an intolerable situation in their own country and have the get-up-and-go to move and change their lives for the better.
They are the same kind of people who, in fleeing oppression, built America. The same people who fled pograms in Tsarist Russia and when settled here at the end of the 19th Century went on to make a great contribution to our country.
Maybe us and the Danes should start a breakaway Union?
