After four days of hanging on the on the line, following instructions pleading for explanations, arguing, waiting for return calls and then a whole day waiting in on the say so of an email for a non delivery, it has arrived!
A new router. Thanks for the suffering BT.

Thanks DTC.
This technophobe managed to fit and connect the router.
Not a massive undertaking but a real step forward for me.
Well done Daisy. BT should compensate you for this grief they have caused you, however they don't volunteer you have to ask.

I did tell them that I did not expect to pay for a Broadband service which I was not receiving.

Don't know why peeps moan about BT, been with them for years, never had a problem that wasn't solved with one 'phone call!

Consider yourself blessed Baldric.

"I do!"
Glad you're sorted Daisy but have to agree with Baldric, no problems here either xx
Well done, Daisy...x

Baldric...if you had been where I was with BT you'd know why people moan...x

Can only tell it as I see it peeps!
I briefly worked for BT Broadband on the other side of the phone. You have my sympathy.
I think I'm going to learn how to speak urdu, should have less problems with Paul in Bangalore then.

gness, glad somebody understands. I only got a reaction when I threatened to change from them.
If you deviate from their script you get shunted to a manager who does not have a clue. Ask a question and they are flummoxed.
Thought the B stood for British. Am I wrong?
Judging from the BT call centre the B must mean Bangalore, Daisy.
Yes...but you said you don't know why people moan, Baldric.....I had nearly a year of a crackling phone...slow internet that would drop out for no reason and always when the phone rang....

I even got a techie in myself to check everything but still BT said it was my equipment....I bought new phones and a new hub.....to no avail...

Last month my phone was unusable...still my fault said BT...nothing wrong at their end....til by a sheer fluke....I got it fixed....the fault WAS with BT...at the exchange.....☺

I now have a perfect phone and fast broadband again....but I feel entitled to moan about the year BT messed me about.....x

Just got a message on PC saying I was not connected to the internet?
Not noticed.
You have my sympathy too. I've been without my BT landline for a week. They kept insisting that the fault was in my property and that if they had to come round to fix it, they would charge me £129.99. It turned out that the fault was in a junction box in the next road, so I don't know why they kept saying it was my fault. The BT engineer said they were stupid to have told me that too.
So did I about 10 mins ago, Daisy. Had to turn the router off at the socket and then restart it. Ok now though.
Question Author
Just ignored it and carried on. Keep calm and ..... on?
Marijn, my son did an off line check (works with computers) all clear, said the router was knackered. Tried telling BT this. Still made to jump through hoops. Told me my account had lapsed (still taking money from me) and that there was an open order on my account. Nothing could be done without that being resolved. Would take all day
Do they not have computers which are connected to each other?
"Jumping through hoops" is a good way of putting it. They made us take all our equipment apart and then back together again several times because they couldn't be bothered to find out if the fault lay with them. I'm glad you've got yours sorted now :-)
