Mrs Z goes to see her mum who's hooked on Tour de France and mentions that her ex husband was a relative of Beryl Burton ( famous female cyclist).

Fast forward to us watching Dinnerladies (there was nothing else on) and we start talking about how good an actress Maxine Peak is (twink and a QC in Silk). Mrs Z googles her and she's only recently been playing Beryl Burton on stage!

Ain't life wiered. Sometimes.

My son was born on a friday, died on a friday and was buried on a friday.
My mum, dad, brother and sister all died on a friday.
Mic was rushed to hospital on a friday.

I used to lodge in Salisbury [1970] with the mother of the then no 2 in women's cycling. Barbara Brown - does that count ?

I used to see an old school friend round town quite often. I said to my OH 'I haven't seen Alister for ages' got a phone call later that day to say he was dead.

He was a wrong'un but I always got on with him. A bad boy with a good heart. Died of a drug overdose. A victim of useless parents.

Not long back I had an answer in a crossword - "tontine". Then later the same day I read the same word in a novel. I hadn't used that word for many decades.

O My god there is a Tontine Hotel near Cleveland, and I've stayed there !
