I read an article saying it was, which sucks--
as I live in Oklahoma and would love to write a comic series that does in fact contain some violence, and possibly fictional death. Any information would be great- loopholes or anything.

This is a UK (United Kingdom) based site I'm afraid, do stick around on the site though you may not get much help with legal questions outside of the UK.
This is a UK site and I would be amazed if anyone knew the proper answer here.
The folks on this site are mainly in the UK, Avafaid, although there are a couple of Americans that post now and again, so you may get lucky and get an answer.
As has been said, this is a UK based site.
Perhaps you could ask your local sheriff.
I thought it was legal to kill people in Oklahoma.
How about moving to Arizona?
why would it be illegal, anyway?
Some things that ARE illegal in Oklahoma include:
1.It is against the law to read a comic book while driving a motor vehicle
2.It is against the law to take a bite from another persons hamburger
3.It is illegal for the owner of a bar to allow anyone to pretend to have sex with a buffalo on his premises
4.It is illegal for a female to do their own hair without a state licence
5. It is illegal to wear boot is bed
6. Whaling is illegal
7.Fish may not be carried in fishbowls whilst on a public bus
8.It is illegal to make faces at dogs

I don't think I will be moving to Oklahoma anytime in the near future
5. *boots in bed*
Well mrs overload, I could live with all of those laws except No 3.

Pfff, I have no idea how I didn't notice this was a UK website. Silly me- but @Svejk , it is not legal to do that, and @mrs_overall : Wow, it's illegal for a female to do their hair, are you serious?
tony, it is only illegal to pretend to have sex with a buffalo. It doesn't say it is illegal to actually do the deed
avafaid, yes they are all true laws in Oklahoma

Ah right, thanks for clearing that up for me, mrs overend.
Indeed, right by where I work too! I was wondering why the police helicopter was being a lot more thorough than it's usual hover over the rush hour traffic on the 602 until the news broke round the office.
well I never, thank you mrs overowl -

Could you not recreate death for the purpose of the comic? Make it that people don't die as such but something else happens to them? Depends whether it is more fact or fiction I guess - I know a comic is fiction but in the realms of fiction. Not sure if that would count as death?
Question Author
Heh, I wonder if it /is/ illegal, if it still would be if I had them explode from a rabid unicorn biting them. Because you know that could totally happen.
Can you not find any comic writers in Oklahoma who include death in their comics, graphic novels maybe (of the violence rather than the other kind of graphic that is!) and the like?

Maybe they could regenerate or go into some kind of suspense state/place or reincarnate or something? Exploding seems a bit final really.
