Hi there every so often I will get a really sharp pain in the left side of my chest. I can always put my finger on it it lasts for about 3 seconds and then goes away. It happens about every 10 minutes I keep on thinking it is something awful but my doctor says it is either muscular or precordial catch syndrome. Im 40 I thought I was too old for that.

Bit old at 40 yrs, for that diagnosis......but I can't think of a better one.
So that's what it's called! The symptoms described here are exactly what I occasionally experience:

I am starting a Daniel Fast in the new year I'm 8 stone overweight and fed up of it I did a Daniel Fast in November and I lost 1 stone in 3 weeks no meat no dairy products you can drink soya milk and eat meat free products plenty vegetables and fruit water the only drink you are allowed I felt great then I went back to normal eating and all IBS came back indigestion and this Christmas I have put on 6 pounds.
gordie- I have similar symptoms and my problem is costochondritis. I also have a hiatus hernia, so it could be linked with diet and indigestion. If you do your fast and cut out all the foods that are known to cause problems (wheat/dairy/meat/caffiene/alcohol) then it will hopefully clear up.
