ELP must be raking it in if they are getting copyright every time that "Fanfare for the Common Man" is played at the Olympics!

Or Boosey and Hawkes.
Wot? Me 'n' Chesney? :P
Vangelis can't be doing too badly either, as his music is played during every medal ceremony (at all venues)

Anyway, it's likely to be the estate of Aaron Copeland which would benefit most from the playing of Fanfare for the Common Man.

Yes, as Chris suggests it may not be ELP who benefit. In fact I'm not sure any royalties are payable for tunes as old as this
Bowie's Heroes is a regular feature too.
No Morrissey tracks being used, then?
"No Morrissey tracks being used, then?"

Only at the Olympic wrist slitting final!
ELP will get a 'performance' royalty, but the serious money is always rooted in the composing and publishing royalties.

If you want to make an eight-figure return on your song, get James Last to record an instrumental version, and get Julio Eglasias to record a Spanish language version - their record sales make Madonna and Jackson looks like car boot sales - that is where the really serious money is to be made.

It may not be hip, but from your Carribean yacht, you can't hear people scoffing, so who cares!
I hope no one gets royalties from God Save The Queen
