Hardly a surprise that most of them are black, with a few Asian and white. From what I have seen on TV this is true of other parts of the UK.

A few of us here on Answerbank have been screamng about the disaster that is mass immigration, often shouted down by people who dont see the problem.

Well now you can see the problem and can realise why we are so frightened about the future of our country.

The country is decending in to anarchy.

Oh do be quiet! This is not a race issue.
These cretins are the scum of the earth they scream 'respect' all the time yet they have no respect for anyone or anything, least of all themselves.
So they have 'nuttin t' do', neither did I when I was their age. I was brought up to be honest and respectful though and we spent our time chatting and in larking around. Any complaints would be dealt with by our parents.
Notice how the press and tv are skirting round the issue.

Its plain to see who the cause of all this is and why

they are even trying to make out this duggan bloke was a nice family man...far from it he was garbage, know to carry a gun, involved with drugs , local gangster etc blah blah blah
VHG - I lived in Birmingham in the 1970s and 80s, and lived through the Handsworth riots which were between the blacks and the Asians. In those days, a good half of the population was black and Asian, probably more. These people have lived there all their lives, as have no doubt their parents and grandparents. These aren't new immigrants, the blacks are mostly the grandchildren of people who were brought in by the then Government after the war to drive the buses, etc. I don't condone what's happening, not for a minute, but these look like the people I lived with there thirty years ago. I may be wrong, but Birmingham has always been multicultural.
My only question, is how many of these looters / rioters have grandparents / great-grandparents who fought for this country in the War? Not many I suggest....
There hasn't been much immigration of black people for decades. Most of the recent immigration has been Asians and Eastern Europeans. The black youths rioting are not immigrants.
Some of us have also been warning that if the austerity measures are not sensibly and fairly and evenly applied then riots would occur.
I've just watched a chap sitting in his van outside his ruined/looted shop, totally desolate. He explained how he had worked for 11 years/ up to 90 hours a week to build up that business.
He was a black man.
There are decent, respectful black/asian/chinese, etc just as there are whites who are a waste of oxygen and should be put down and certainly not allowed to reproduce.
People are individuals and should be judged on their actions alone not on their's or their parent's colour or country of origin.
They've hit Manchester City Centre now. Apparently there's looting on Market street, shops on fire and possibly they've got into the Arndale Centre.
The way they are targeting shopping malls is very scary - could this not be predicted after the last couple of nights? Where is the water cannon?
By Anarchists on the extreme right of your shady politics deliberately stirring things up to incite racial hatred

By Anarchists on the extreme left of politics deliberatley stirring things up to incite hatred of the political and financial system in favour of a system that they have no diea of - and some don't even know what to replace it with

By Anarchists hell bent on causing trouble just to society fray.....and dont give a shyte.

Target all 3 leaders and remove the fuses I have said it before I seriously hope MI5 are working overtime to bang all 3 groups leaders out of play.

Just look at what is swilling around on Facebook etc and tell me that this is not coordinated by one or several of the Groups - even down here for Torquay, Exeter and Plymouth. The good news is that users of those web sites are shouting back and swamping their offensive threads.

Well done them and may it continue
All those shown in the news in Salford, Manchester this evening looked white to me
just to see society fray....
Manchester:

Miss Selfridges has been torch. All public transport has been halted, and there are said to be hundreds/thousands of youths attacking the police.
The England football match v. Holland tomorrow at Wembley has been cancelled, just on the news.
Pictures of the riots are being shown round the world. What an embarrassment for the British. We are being accused of the same treatment to our citizens that Mabarrak used in Egypt, that Gaddafi used in Libya and all the countries where the population rose up which we welcomed as the Arab Spring.

We are now being lectured on how to treat our citizens and talk with them to find their grievences.

One things for certain. We will never again try to lecture other countries....nobody will believe us...we are doomed!!
"We are being accused of the same treatment to our citizens that Mabarrak used in Egypt, that Gaddafi used in Libya and all the countries where the population rose up which we welcomed as the Arab Spring."

Really? I haven't heard this anywhere.

I know what you mean about the broader point though. Events like this do certainly damage the credibility of the West in proclaiming the virtues of its system to the rest of the world, so I guess that leaves us as members of it with a choice: either we look at these events and start seriously questioning our political system/society, or in the face of this we try to see what's good in it and what's worth keeping. Personally, I could understand both as valid - my rather embarassing emotional/knee-jerk response yesterday was to the former. Unsurprisingly though, I'm beginning to think the latter looks more sensible...
those rioting are a mixture of races, not just black people as some seem to suggest, and the ones that are would probably be second, third generation, so not necessarily new arrivals. They are criminals, no matter the colour of the persons skin. And i am ashamed of all of them, and what they have done to London, and to Britain. I commiserated with a friend recently over the riots in Greece, little thinking that we would be next on the list. None of this is politicial, it's not about cuts, as has been pointed out any number of times, they haven't come into effect as yet, so unless some think this is a pre emptive strike, to me its just mindless, mindnumbing thuggery. Just like the student riots, starts out as a so called peaceful march, then is hijacked by any number of morons, with their own agendas, and this is what has happened here.

"either we look at these events and start seriously questioning our political system/society, or in the face of this we try to see what's good in it and what's worth keeping."

An excellent summing up of the status quo and I agree entirely but that poses a few problems.

There are many people who deny that there is a deterioration in the fabric of our society and that the changes made over the past 30 years have been for the better. This always has been hotly debated and needs to be addressed in a more non confrontational manner. Indeed I do have my own opinions, but these are not o important in the bigger picture.
Do we need to change our attitude to education and the disciplining of young parents and adults?

Need we perhaps go back to the values of yesteryear...education, respect, dare i say it National service and perhaps zero tolerance which although not a part of the last generation needs to be considered.

We do need to know the percentage of non-whites involved in the riots, not necessarily for a racial evaluation but to see if that was a factor and if so , why, but these statistic will never be released because of political implications.

Yes, we should concentrate on the positives of UK society, but not to the exclusion of considering the reasons for the deterioration of the moral fabric of society.

This has taken a generation in the making and will tae another generation to address the problems.

Let's hope that you are right.
VHG - did you not watch the news before posting this? BBC 6 p.m. news last night showed the man talking to camera saying he was ashamed to be black. My heart went out to him as well as to all those affected by this. I don't care what colour people are. I do care about their behaviour. If it were not for so many immigrants my late sister might never have had her triple by pass operation in Hammersmith Hospital which gave her another 12 years of life. I stayed in that hospital for 2 weeks and was shown nothing but kindness by all of the staff, the vast majority of whom were neither white nor English.
sqad i don't want to be right about this, not in any respect, but i do want London to stop being a battle ground for anyone who thinks they have a grievance, its endless, not just riots over the last few days, students marching over fees, and demonstrations from groups that have nothing at all to do with Britain, it's one thing after the other, and tired of being caught up each time, weekends are a nightmare to travel around at any rate, as every aspect of the capital is under siege from road, building, underground and rail works, and unless you live, work here, have no idea how bad it's become. These riots have just added another blight, and i dread to think what it will be like come next year when the Olympics comes to town.
