To all those that who criticise our troops for killing the Taliban, I say take a look what they have done to this young and beautiful girl, to them life is nothing, especially the lives of women.

If it was at all possible each and everyone of them should be exterminated just like one would do with mad dogs.

<<Arranged, also means one has no choice>>

Simply not true, false and incorrect.

Arranged marriage means one CHOOSES to allow one's parents to find prospective partners, one chooses to be happy with that and (in the majority of cases) one is happy with the result.

One also knows that of one is really unhappy with the parents' selection, refusing may p1ss them off but nothing more.

Forced means one is carted off and married to someone with no recourse whatsoever.

There is a difference. That's why people involved in these matters routinely use two different expressions in order to distinguish between them.

All a one sided argument as usual,

/// their families killed by our troops who have neen sided with one of the corrupt factions currently fighting for control of their country.///

Haven't their own people including the Taliban killed many of their own as well, just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

You also referred to the elected Afghanistan Government as corrupt, admittedly not to Western standards, but who do you wish to be in power, the Taliban?

Regarding the NATO forces killing civilians, that is a fact of war, just take how many civilians were killed during WW2,, but then that was deliberate killing.

The difference in Afghanistan being the NATO troops take every precaution necessary to protect civilians, even at the risk of getting killed or maimed themselves.

If they weren't fighting with one hand behind their back, and used every advanced weaponry at their disposal, we could have been out of Afghanistan years ago.

"Forced, means one has no choice.

Arranged, also means one has no choice"

Must remember that next time my wife arranges a dental appointment for me.

You just try, and not attend your appointment and you will soon discover that they mean the same.

Zeuhl - "What is the basis of your disdain?" - probably because it's to do with foreigners and that.

Yes Afghans are killing Afghans. It's a tragedy. It's a civil war

Why do you think that just because the current american-arranged afghan gangster government is no worse than any alternative that our troops should be dying to prop up their regime in someone else's civil war?

<<elected>> well give us a moment while we stop laughing.

I'm sure our troops try their best not to kill civilians. Not quite so convinced about the american capabilities in that area. Plenty of evidence of gung-ho attacks with insufficient intel. Either way I'm not sure how that is relevant when our inevitable errors kill a bunch of 'friends' and make others wonder if the Taliban might not be so bad after all.

I did not express my pity for this poor woman, simply because I would have thought that it can be taken as read - and you did not ask for a reaction to what was done to her - merely attempted to lump in her derranged husband with every other Taliban member.

So - for the record, should AOG be in any doubt, I wish to formally epxress my sincere horror and pity at the disfigurement of this poor woman, and while i am stating what surely does not need to be stated, i will confirm that the sun rose this morning, and gravity is working on the section of the planet wheree I live.
<<It sounds like you are a paid up member of the pig ignorant islamic doctrines. >>

if doc had bothered to read my post properly he would have seen my remarks were based on personal acquaintance with Hindus - nothing to do with Islam

Arranged marriages (as distinct from forced) are a well established part of asian culture and continue to be very popular with parents and children preparing for marriage.

<<If something is arranged for you without your knowledge or consent,>>

they're not - as my post explained. Can't doc read?

Question Author
I have just drawn a parallel with my question about a Taliban fighter cutting off the nose and ears of a young girl, and the question set by sp1814 regarding the white teacher spraying an Asian child with air freshener,..

Regarding my question, hardly a mention about the girl or the perpetrator of this savage act, more about arranged marriages etc.

But the question set by sp1814, then all hells let loose.against that woman.

A typical case of double standards on this site.
