I got a load for free.
When mine give up the ghost I just chuck them in the Grey Wheelie Bin.
it's because high blood pressure high cholesterol and flu can all kill you
The Energy saving Light 'Bulbs' I have in my Flat have lasted 8yrs so far. The cheap Supermarket Branded ones will not last long !
I like living sambro and I am very grateful for statins which have enabled me to live longer. Some people might want to die but I do not. I am on the full dosage - it is pretty high as you can tell but I would have snuffed it a long time ago if not for statins.
Starbucky that probably what your doctor had told you. But, how certain are you of that?
I've got energy saving light bulbs still going strong after 5 1/2 years....so no complaints from me. I bought 3 Phillips bulbs in Sainsbury's the other week for just 30p.
Sorry, what are statins (or what are they for)?
Statins are drugs to reduce cholesterol.
Thanks scotman.
I am certain because high cholesterol is in my family and so far my brother has died of a heart attack at the age of 47 before they knew about statins and my other brother has had a triple by-pass. So far I have managed to avoid this and reached my 80's but I still don't fancy dieing. I shall live as long as I can and use everything available to help me..
All the best to a long and healthy life, Starbucky. x
society, have you had a bad experience with statins.
Anne I'm in perfect health not on any medication and never have been on any.
It's been quite long already society, but I still don't want to give up the ghost until the very last moment.
society, i thought your answer seemed dismissive of statins..............must have read it wrong.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,dont think you going anywhere star for a while. :)
Statins and grapefruit do not mix.

I want to be able to see when I walk in to a room, not have to wait 10 minute for the bulb to heat up, so I bought 150 of 100 wat bulbs before they went out of circulation.
Not if I can help it anne. I also take tablets for high blood pressure and I have a flu jab every year. it's no effort to take them and it keeps me going.
I think I read something about giving men over a certain age (very vague I am afraid) statins to keep heart attacks away.
Statins:
Half of the NICE panel received money from drugs makers
The NICE panel chairman got tens of thousands of pounds from 5 drugs firms.
NICE last year issued guidelines telling GPs to prescribe more statins.
Now there's a surprise!
