Could more harm than good be caused by the public discloser of these files.

Having said that if deliberate war crimes have been committed then the perpetrators should be brought to justice.

Interesting this, I posted this since it has been headline news all weekend, and due to the subject matter I thought this would have been a very popular post, just goes to show.
Erm no.
This is the truh behind the insurgency, if we are to deliver justice to Iraq and the Iraqis then we have to behave like the civilised people we are.
The main problem this leak creates is for Nouri Al Maliki, the people don't want him, he should do the decent thing and step aside for the good of the country.
No one is really surprised that we have not been told the truth. Just confirmation of what we already know.

You normally have little concern for the suffering of innocent civilians AOG.
It's not attracting attention on here because all of us here, I believe, are not a bit surprised. The locals knew of it and there was already enough known to outsiders to suggest that there must be much more.
It's not clear how, given that, this disclosure will cause any more trouble nor how it endangers particular individuals
