I am a seventeen year old girl and I recently met this guy whom is 23. I am very attracted to him and he is to me as well. We started going out once we got to know each other but our parents highly disapprove of it. My mom thinks we are just friends because that is what I keep telling her. I hate to lie to my mom but I like this guy a lot and I don't know what to do. I only have 6 months left until my 18th birthday and we are not sexually active. Am I in the wrong?

Why should you be wrong for liking someone? You are both "legal" so I don't see the problem. History is steeped with parents not liking their children's partners, if they like him I would worry...
What's the problem? Go out with him! Tell your Mum he has asked you out on a date, and go and have a great time. You don't have to wait until you are 18 to do everything! Especially not seek your parents approval.
The age of consent in Arizona would appear to be 18. So far you appear to be doing no wrong (and neither does your partner). But this is your third disturbing question in 24 hours. I agree with those who suggest that you need to talk to someone. Good luck.

Babygirl, please be careful considering all the other things that are going on for you at the moment. I would suggest staying friends but try not getting too involved until your other issues have been dealt with.

Take care

I just turned 17 and my husband was 25 when we met, 8 years ago.  I told my parents he was 21 to soften the blow, and they eventually found out his true age on our wedding day 2 years later!  I have 2 sons to him, and he is the best thing in the world.  He is mature, romantic and has got over that foolish age where men have to fight each other do stupid things to prove themselves!  If your both happy and there is something serious between you, then keep telling those little white lies until the moment is right to tell your mum.  By then she will probably have met him so much that he will have grown on her!  Thats what happend to me!
