Dockside bars

Does anyone live by the docks and more to the point does anyone know whether these kind of bars exist? Seems like a great place to meet strong strapping sailor types wouldn't you agree?

Have had some of the Spookiest and best times of my life in 'Seedy Dockside Bars' all over the World.
You name it and it goes on in these places.
If you want sex, drugs, Punchups, you name it as it all happens in a lot of these Bars.
It's life at its rawest and some of the Characters you meet are almost unreal.
Yes I was a Seaman for many Years ! lol

My city has water on two sides.....a river,,,and the "Sound".....we have a Royal Marines Barracks, and a lively nightlife that frequently results in fights between the locals and military types.......does that help???

Patsafreak but unfortunately the sailors now are mainly cleanshaven under 21 urchins smelling of georgio armani and constantly txing their "Mammys' back home! now Captain john sparrow and Blackbeard" they were real men you could set your watch by!

It would deffo make interesting reading. The life of a Merchant Navy Seaman was never boring to say the least.
