It would appear that sp1814's question has been closed for some reason, hence "Is this advert sexist2"?

Blimey, 8 complaints and the advert is under review.

I knew that minority groups in this country have a huge sway, but this is getting ridiculous.

They said that the advert was demeaning to women, what about countless of other adverts that are demeaning towards men?

One instance is where a man and his wife are at the checkout of a store, and the wife tells her husband that he had forgotten a certain item, after he scuttles off to fetch the said item, the wife turns to the checkout girl and says "what are they like eh?"

I can't bring to mind any particular one, but we have all seen those situations in an advert where a man has been put in an embarrassing situation, naked with just his hands, towel, or some other item, to hide his embarrassment, all to the amusement of some woman.

Did you complain when you saw this offensive ad? If not then you have no voice at all! If people find something offensive that you dont big deal!

The fact that you use a counter argument but you haven't done anything with makes it even more of a pointless argument!

or is this what AOG says is right and thats it?

A pathetic excuse for me to post this...

I can see why that was banned Gromit :0)
I don't have a problem with it but I know many women who would hate for their men to watch it.

What a great ad.

I'd never seen that.

I love Agent Provocateur. They have a fab display in Selfridges.

But they don't have a velvet rodeo bull ... so how are we supposed to try their undies ?

=0)
I've not clicked on the link, but from the comments I assume it's the Kylie ad for Agent Provocateur right?

BEST ADVERT....EVER.
By the way, I closed my own thread as I had the joke explained to me, and contextually, it made sense.

"Had some hunky guy been prancing about in his Y Fronts would blokes complain? It wouldn't bother me one bit and it'd give the "gay" brigade something to ogle over - right? Of course "right"."

Chance'd be a fine thing.

It almost never happens on TV adverts.

Incidentally, it's not just the gays that appreciate something buff...I hear women also like to have a look at decent crumpet too.

There will always be someone that complains about something.

I know someone that is a serial complainer. In their town a monument was going to be erected. The council I know had one complaint (from her). It wasn't erected even though several people argued 'what's the problem'.

In this country the minority seem to have more power than the majority.
Of course it's offensive - it's an M&S advert.

Quite right, people should grow a thicker skin, or am I being pachydermist?
No. It isn't sexist.

Christmas 2007 M & S ad - 32 seconds in and Noemie Lenoir can be seen in her skimpies.

Christmas 2008 M & S ad - at least the French beauty has waited until 40 seconds into this advert to display just what M & S sell. It's just the Gene Hunt character from Life On Mars and Ashes To Ashes that people have complained about. I bet Noemie was too overcome with grief to comment.

I wonder how many people complained of the 'diet coke guy' adverts that have long been on our TV screens?
