Free WiFi in Spain

I am going on holiday to Spain (Santa Susanna, Costa Brava) next week. I am taking my laptop and wondered if anyone knows where I can get free internet access. Do the Mc Donalds have free access there like they do here in the UK?

When I went to Barcelona earlier this year there were plenty of Free wi-fi hotspots about in Cafes and bars.

Barcelona is a bit too far. I'm looking for somewhere more local. I don't plan to eat at Mc Donalds, just use their internet. ;)

There are several wifi sources, but do not know if they are free

If you find your hotel on Google Earth, then search for wifi you should find if any are nearby.

Judging by the food last time I was in Spain, probably the safest option!
