Can someone tell me how many units allowed by law in the UK you can intake before being known as over the limit for driving? tried researching it with no success. what is the limit, as im sure the units in each drink effects everyone individually and i know its no longer 2pints for a man and 2small glasses of wine for a woman? does anyone have the correct answer??? There is no 'correct' answer to that question because the law does not measure how many units of alcohol a person has drunk in assessing whether over the limit. The 'limit' is set by assessing the amount of alcohol in the blood at the time of testing. Since different bodies initially absorb and then process alcohol at different rates, it is different for each person.
there was a program on tv around xmas where they put so many people to the test as regards amounts drunk and it did vary considerably from person to person. One guy drank 5pints and was still within the legal limit, the presenter was put on a test track and fed either bacardi or vodka & coke over a period of time, after a so many drinks he could hardly keep the car on the track, again he tested under the limit !! it was a real eye opener..
as buildersmate says there is no correct limit..just dont risk it if in doubt
I saw that chas
Did you also think the girl who said she drank 10 malibus plus a lot of other shots and stuff and then drove home was a big fat liar? She'd have been flat on her back

As BM says, OP, no one can tell you for sure how much one person can drink before being unfit to drive. I know that on some occasions I have drink 2 smallish glasses of wine and felt as pi!!ed as the proverbial newt but have also come out of the pub after drinking 6/7 glasses and felt a sober as a judge
breathaliser limits here

One simple answer, don't drink and drive!
