No, it is to protect the three other children.
Then its fair enough. Lets hope they have an improved life now, though you wonder after living with all that went on.
How old are the other children?
:|
social services let baby P down
GP's and other doctors let him down
the police have let him down
the british judicial system has let him down

lets just hope the british prison system works and these 3 animals spend the rest of their lives in hell
Davethedog - I understand your feelings, as I feel the same about them & others like 'em too - BUT - if you took it upon yourself to name & shame them, then their house was bombarded with nutters trying to burn their house down, putting them &/or their children in danger....THEN, at or after trial, they were found to be completely innocent - how would you feel then?

Smashing a few windows, or pelting them with sticks, stones, or eggs, might make you feel better, but could get you into trouble!

As I say, let them get what they deserve in prison - by the big boys!
Dave - I'd been trying to post that before your last post, but think you'll understand what I'm saying. ;o}
I don't think they should get custodial sentences.

I think they should each be given a caution.

And released back into the community ...

... where they will be "safely looked after" !!!!!!!!!!!!

Smudge I really am to abrupt when posting and I don't mean to be.

I wasn't trying to advocate vigilantism, it was an honest question. As much as I would like to see these people "get theirs" I just wondered if they were being protected.

Too right. No vigilantism.
Responsible people would all agree.
And so they should.
Can we afford to have lynch mobs taking over.?
You don't know where it would end.

Can we rely on the judicial system, though?
Or are the Courts' sentencing powers inadequate?
Needless to say, some people are sceptical.
Not everyone trusts the judicial system any more.
Only time will tell, in this particular case.
Leave it to the Courts.
Let the proper authorities deal with the offenders.
Even in a case like this, you can't have mob rule.
You would end up with anarchy.

It is worth remembering that the three were not charged with murder or manslaughter.

They were found guilty under the Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act 2004 with Causing or allowing the death of a child or vulnerable adult.

It is not possible to impose a sentence of life without parole for this offense. The maximum the judge can impose is 14 years.
Gromit, I did not know that!!

I had really hoped that our justice system would come through this time, but it would seem they won't!!

I wonder if, on their release, they'll be given new identities and a new life like some others before them?
Yes, it really does make you sick what horrible people 'get away' with these days!
What was the reason for not charging them with murder or manslaughter?

What makes me sad is that wee boys memorial doesn't even mention his name. Surely he deserves that much at least.
Apparently to charge with murder there has to be irrefutable evidence, and as there were three people involved in this case, they couldn't prove beyond doubt which one of them was responsible for the babys actual death!!

they weren't charged with murder/manslaughter because their legal representatives told them to blame each other as the police couldn't prove who had dealt the blow that killed him
Jafi

Ghastly as it may sound ...

... the reason they were not charged with Murder is that they didn't intend to kill Baby P.

They wanted him to stay alive so that they could continue with their sadism.

He died by accident.
how come the 15yr old girl living in the house at the time and witnessed the torture has not been charged with anything
Ahh right, i didn't realise that. I was hoping they would get a long sentance with no hope of parole. But seems like it could be 14 years or anything up to that.

And then they'll be realised under new identities and given a new life at the taxpayers expense.

Disgusting!!!!!
jafi

you'd think after all the counciol has done to let him down they could put something up to mark his memorial
