Who is more for the military, Kerry or Bush?

Traditionally, the Republican party (Bush) might be expected to be slightly more in favour of the use of military might, but American governments from all parts of the political spectrum have used force.

Bush is currently favouring an interventionist policy which necessarily involves force, but has also cut benefits to veterans, so one could argue he's put them in peril for bad reasons and reduced their money.

Not at all, bernardo. Clearly Kerry has better taste in snack food.

Mamasita, both are pretty militaristic. Bush has filled his government with and is advised by members of a thinktank called the Project for the New American Century... a very scary group, that wants the U.S. to be the world bully, follow the doctrine of pre-emptive warfare against anyone we don't like, and generally be imperialists. In 1997 they were planning how to go to war against Iraq, and then when 9/11 happened, they used it as their excuse. Bush will go to war against any country that will serve his political needs, and the agenda of the PFNAC. But he cuts funding for military pensions and health care, and doesn't provide enough body armor or other reinforcements. Kerry wants to build up the military as well, but I think he's much less likely to lead us into unnecessary wars - he very strongly thinks Vietnam was a mistake, and it seems like that's what he thinks of Iraq also. But he's not advocating spending less on the military, as far as I've heard. One good thing for him - he's strongly against nuclear proliferation. Hopefully that applies to the US as well as other countries.
