Thats a good link Kempie, but it doesn't answer the question, Do you have an opinion on it?.

Just trying for a pro or anti debate.
I have a feeling this will have as much truth in it as the "straight banana" uproar a few years back. The clue should be that this **ahem** "story" appeared in the right wing tabloids today (handy for St. Georges' day). The EU is a very convenient target for lazy journalists on gutter tabloids and this should probably be dismissed as loony-right propaganda.
Since the end of the second world war there has been plans for a super-european state. they can deny it all they like or call it what they want but now in 2008 plans are well under way for just that, A United States of Europe.

why do people think immigration has been allowed and gone on unnabated for so long ?

the less opposition to a superstate the easier it is and quicker to put in place.
the more immigrants the less people there are to fight to keep the identity and cultural heritage of this country, within another 2 generations at most there will hardly be any body left who will fight to keep this countrys traditions etc etc and it will be game set and match.
Phoney Blair is already manouvering to become President of Europe. As every day passes more and more power is ceded to Europe yet year after year people fall for the utter lies that our politicians spout.

This country is doomed, it will end up just a province to provide resources for Europe, just as it was for the Romans, and to the tune of tens of billions of pounds every year it already is.

Politicians dont care who they govern as long as they can govern and control.

I wouldn't expect England to appear on an EU map anyway, since it isn't a member state. The exact reason for using England/Britain eludes me; it seems the English claim to be England when they think they're hard enough (eg football) but Britain when they aren't (eg rugby league). But from the EU point of view we're Britain.

As to why Britain isn't on the map either, I guess it's precisely because it is a transnational map and the EU believes that in some respects Kent is closer to Normandy than it is to the Midlands, say. This isn't new: I have some tourist brochures issued jointly by Kent and Cote d'Opale and West Flanders. I don't for a moment imagine all their tourism literature links these areas, but clearly they see some virtue in trying to get Men of Kent and Kentish men to go to Normandy, and Normans to come to Kent, and everyone to go to Flanders. After all, the south coast and northern France are, at best, only 20 miles apart; so trying to boost trade between them seems perfectly logical and should ultimately benefit people on both sides of the Channel.

Incidentally, have the French been complaining about the map? Their name isn't on it either.
Very true. I often think that parts of East Anglia, particularly Suffolk and Essex have way more in common with Holland than they do with Yorkshire or Humberside. Still, I like this kind of thread because it gets the "Daily Mail" brigade all steamed up and that is extremely entertaining!
Saintjohnny, the first time I went to Normandy I was amazed to find far more half-timbered old 'Elizabethan' buildings than there were in England.

And you're right... the flatness of the fen country is pretty much like the Netherlands, both struggling to keep the high tides out.
Why do some post a question on this site, ask others for their opinions, but then sit on the fence without having made an opinion of their own?

Don't be scared of having an opinion of your own. I know some ABers don't like some to have an opinion, but eh, I am sure you must be able to enter into a debate with them.

Apologies for not coming back sooner, work.

aog, you first, If you look at some of my other posts, you'll see why this time i've withheld my opinion until after others have replied, still waiting for yours,

bazwillrun,
You have it spot on, my thoughts exactly, glad you said that, if i'd said it, some on here would have been down on me like a ton of hot bricks. (not necessarily the posters on this thread.

jno,
Another well measured reply, as for the French, I don't know, but as for this country, my opinion will follow at the end.
Also, and I found the link if you would like to see it, I posted something similar in 2005, which you gave an answer to, and its happening, but in a slightly different format.

What I think is,
Since 1997, this Britain has been ruled by Scots, apart from a few incometants, the Goverment of Britain has been exclusively Scottish.
Since the EU's conception, Scotland has always wanted to join, England never has, unless just for trade.
Take that into account, along with what bazwillrun says, and you have my opinion.

Do I like the Idea, No.
