I'm sad to read this, as only just being 21, I used to love Smart and watched it alot and thought he was cool.

I knew that he had gone missing, and the previous stories, but didnt think this was how it would end!

How come they have only just found him though? Mind you, I dont know Paddington Station so hmm.

At least his family have some sort of closure now.
Oh no. I have been following this all week in the papers online and I didn't think he would turn up alive.
The whole thing is very sad indeed.
Awww what a shame, terrible waste of a young life.

A romantic part of me thinks it's because he loved his girlfriend so much that he ended up this way, but then the more cynical part of me thinks that he should have thought more of her whilst SHE was still alive and made sure she (and him) stayed the hell away from drugs!!!
well said boo tragic for him and his family.....but he really should have known better drugs ruin and end lives.........

B00, I'm thinking along the same lines as you, or maybe he blames himself for her death?
Who gives a sh1t about low live druggy scum who boil themselves whilst out of their heads, good riddance I say.
Ahhh, the benevolent Doc, who won't be here next week, he'll be attended the Nobel prize ceremony where he is to awarded one for peace ;-)
Spock go boil your head. Lets hope no one misses you when you go and with that attitude no one probably will.
Life is life and is has been is gone and he was good at his job. What he did in his private life is not the issue here.
'a remote area of Paddington Station'; hardly Dartmoor is it?
tigerlily altghough i agree with you in some respects he was a CHILDRENS tv show presenterd and thousands of kids probably looked up to him so theredore his private life was in the public eye. hopefully some good will come out of his death in that youngsters will see what a devestating and often tragic effect drugs have on peoples lives and will steer well clear of them...............

I watched him for a long timeand really liked him on the programme, but I dont see how because he was a kids presenter means it is any different to that of any one else on tv or radio?
Having watched him as a kid, you couldnt tell he was on drugs or anything like that, and it was only brought to light because of what happened with his fiancee.
Stoke I agree with what you said. I just get fed up with some people that are plain nasty without even trying. Yes he did do some silly things and so did a lot of musicains and actors which killed them in the end but if he had been some like Janice Joplin of Jimi Hendix, would the response have been the same.
Its just nasty for the sake of it.
Lets face it a lot of icons have died of drug overdoses but it has done nothing to discouraging people from using them.
I just feel so dreadly sad for both families who quite obviously have stood by him during this -which effectively is a tragedy. They have both lost their loved ones now -he made the ultimate sacrilege for the loss of his fiancee. What more do people want -blood ?
>he made the ultimate sacrilege

I think you mean sacrifice
Goodness me tigerlilly, your grammar is appalling.
How sad , my heart goes out to his family & friend's.
so what.
very sad , I shall miss him like a boil on my @rse.
who cares what you'll miss.
How easy it is to wind up the low interlect types.
