Question Author
bri,
bet you fly the three white stripes of the french tricolour from your very own euro flagpole |
|
If we'd listened to the French and not the Americans we wouldn't be in Iraq.
And you wouldn't be paying all that tax to fund it! Or do you think Blair was right to help George Bush invade Iraq? |

She is utterly utterly gorgeous.

jake,
i realise you have the same type of opinion about the US as i do about the french however bush was not mentioned in the header, why not start one yourself? anyway the americans are totally different, we have a bit of history going back a few years of joining up with them to bail out the french in their own back yard. |

flip,
to be fair - for the wife of a frenchman she is unusually stunning, thats because she is italian. |

Its all about whether you want Britain to be an equal partner in Europe or be a lacky to the USA
|
|
when will we ever be an equal partner in Europe? Our job is to pay for the show and let them shaft us every 5 minutes or did I miss something?

He cannot show us any respect or he would speak English when he is over here.
Apparently on the Radio it said that the French are so patriotic that they prefer to speak in French, but it would be no problem because our Queen speaks fluent French. I consider this a snub, and I bet if she ever visits France they will not return the compliment. Take the Eurovision Song contest, when France announcers their vote results it is never in English, as per the norm. |
|
That's pretty funny
Given that the English are pretty much the world's worst for speaking other languages, criticising Sarkozy for not speaking English is rather amusing. I do hope that you're not being a hypocrit and that your own mastery of French would be up to it! |
|
No I don't fly the French Flag but neither am I Racist.
|
|
Oh and it was Sarkozy who brought up the Americans
But then you weren't taking any notice of anything he said were you? Actually I'm surprised you don't like him given his politics, not like Segolene Royal. Oh but you probably weren't paying any attention to that either. Something gives me the funny feeling you know more about his wife than his politics. Still I wouldn't that get in the way of your opinion if I were you |

Question Author
bri,
a racist would surely hold the type of opinion along the lines of 'that all french people are lazy, smelly and cowardly' my personal experience would show that view to be an over generalisation and not a view i would necessarily agree with, i once met a french person who worked very hard. |

Have a read of this, Simon Glover, and he's got it just about right.

As Blair said the USA is our best friend. The fact that he and previous politicians have said this makes you question their motives. Nothing to do with feathering their own nests I suppose?
