I often think about my standard of driving and wonder if I am old fashioned or something, I do alot of driving in my job as a surveyor, mostly on the motorways, M3, M4, M25 etc. I am amazed at how many drivers do not use indicators or mirrors and just change lanes without warning, I see vehicles with front foglights switched on when visibility is a good mile or so, and also using rear fogs when it is raining, blinding the person behind, Idiots just sat in the 3rd lane when the others are empty, and then there is the mobile phone user, (mostly in expensive cars) The list goes on. I wasn't going to mention the vans or 7.5t drivers! any one seen the driving standards of the Unichem vans around the M25, they must be brain dead. Oh and 7.5t drivers using the outside lane at a snails pace, I didn't think they were allowed in the outside lane. Comments please.

I agree with ZAC, most drivers are not interested in driving or improving their driving.

All they are interested in is getting from A to B and don't take much notice of what is happening on the way.

I am also a menber of the IAM for cars and HGV vehicles, it should be compulsory for all car drivers after 5 years with a licence.
We can all moan about other drivers on the motorway and probably have a few faults ourselves. Why, because we are not taught how to drive on motorways. It requires skill and awareness but the technique has to be learnt. If we are not told any differently we end up tail gating, hogging the middle lane, rubber necking the list goes on.
Surely after passing the driving test, motorway instruction should be compulsary and you shouldn't be allowed on the motorway until you can prove your competence.
I have even witnessed people regarding the slipway on joining the motorway as a T Junction and actually stopping.
If you worried about your driving on motorways sigma get taught by the experts at the Institute of advanced motorists here.....

I'm not worried about driving on the motorway, it's the other drivers that worry me.
