So a book about 3 little pigs has been rejected from being given an award because "it may offend Muslims" (where have we heard that before)

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/7204635.s tm

What next, Tesco refuse to sell Bacon or Pork Pies because it may offend Muslims.

Miss Piggy banned from the Muppets because it may offend Muslims.

I am getting sick of this.

This is England, we eat pigs, to us a pig is like any other animal. Get over it.

i mentioned it because some people may find it offensive, as well as the word i wrote but its not been banned cant see the difference
I got told my shirt was 'honky tonk' the other night. I was most offended actually.
With regards to the story... I sometimes think the Dail Hate should get an award for the confusion and arguments they create out of what is usually very bad journalism.

Of course it's about your ideas and opinions.

Check your post from 10:50 today!!!

It's your first entry to this thread, and you don't even mention the book. Instead you propose a solution of 'if you don't like it here...etc'.

Don't you think that if someone is going to post such strong views they should be challenged?

Don't think I'm 'having a go'...I'm challenging you to a debate which you, in fact, started.
so why not challenge others peoples views as well as mine? like the original poster for instance i dont think i started a debate, i posted my views to which i am entitled, its strange that you are not often seen on here except when it comes to a post about racism, balcks and that kind of thing something tells me you have a chip on your shoulder, but i may be wrong but then again thats one of MY opinions to which i am entitled and no longer wish to discuss
Gina,

I do not have a racist bone in my body but I agree that it is solely muslims who are to blame.

They are so insecure about their religion because the world is waking up to the fact they ALL rape babies, plot terror attacks and beat women, they are on the defensive

I want world peace and am saddenned when natural disasters happen, but if the entire muslim world could be destroyed with me clapping my hands like a demented Super-God. Then I would won first prize in a national seal look-a-like competition.

Death to ALL muslims is not a fascist statement. It is a statement of peace.

Hoorah!

You've got to the 'chip on your shoulder' statement.

That old chestnut always pops up...normally at the post when the discussion can't go any further because I've asked too many awkward questions.

I'll level with you...I challenge anyone who's views on race/religion I disagree with. AOG, Raggy Roman and Bewley Bros will back me up on this.

Yes, you're entitled to your views, but c'mon...do you really think that means that people won't challenge you on them, the same way you should challenge me?

I know what you meant by 'our country'. Your views are dangerous and retrograde. You're entitled to them, but that doesn't make them any less dodgy.

Raggy - I'll get back to you in a moment.

that old chestnut always pops up.... smacks of chip... if you ask me nothing to do with asking questions, im old enough to make up my own mind and voice my opinions, i dont have to answer to you or anyone else, i dont wish to challenge you, because they are your opinions to which we all have our own
Raggy

Quite a bad example because in Jamaica, you're Jamaican or not. You don't have 'degrees of Jamaican-ness'...

You're not saying that you think there are 'tiers' of Britishness do you???
Thank you gina32.

I hear what you're saying. I think your opinions are a bit nasty, but as you say - you're entitled to them.

Just to prove that I'm not just having a go at you, I shall now direct my opprobrium at Raggy.

I think there are tiers of Britishness or at the very least Englishness.

I am more English than most people. FACT.
-- answer removed --
In my view, there are no degrees of Britishness.

You either are, or aren't.

British is a nationality.

However, you can, and do have degrees of Englishness. That's a cultural thing. I recently read "Watching the English: The Hidden Rules of English Behaviour" by Kate Fox. She's a social anthropologist who has taken the time to establish what it means to be English.

Anyway, British and English aren't the same thing at all.
Raggy

Let's put it this way - whatever it says on your passport...that's what you are.

Social Anthropologist.

Sounds like a mickey mouse degree.

Can someone tell me what sp1814 is on about.

Plain English please.( or is that British)
Wrong about the passport.

It says I am a citizen. I am a subject as we live in a Monarchy.
