Just before xmas I went to the local supermarket first thing in the morning to do the xmas food shop. To cut a long story short, they hadn't filled any of the shelves and most of the fruit and veg was pretty much empty or rotten from the night before. And most items were burn't in the bakery section. So I made a complaint (I don't normally complain about things) by letter and yesturday the Deputy Assistant Manager came to my door and appologised and gave me a bunch of flowers, which is great but not the strange part. She also gave me a bag of 4 small baguettes, fresh Thyme, Brussells Sprouts and potatoes as I mentioned these items in the letter of complaint. I'm not in any way ungrateful, but why give me these things when they were quite obviously intended to be used over xmas. I just think it's strange. Don't you? As, if I were the boss and someone had complained I would have given them a voucher and flowers!

As I said, I wasn't ungrateful in the slightest, infact I would have been happy with just the flowers as I thought it was a nice gesture. The food they gave me for free, is fine, but some of it wasted as we only eat brussells on xmas day.... as do most people. It just seems strange to me thats all.
I gonna complain about the turkey, pork joint, beef joint I got and see what happens!!
at xmas they may have been overstretched and the policy for the day was "like for like"?

it tends to be that in a lot of places

Yeah, makes me think that I should have complained about something worth while like cakes and chocolate or something a lttle pricier!!
I guess they could have been overstrecthed at crimbo cazz. I do live on an Island. Although you saying that its the same in alot of places makes me wonder if living on an island makes a difference. Thanks anyway
Are you in Tenerife with Legend??!!
LOL at funnygirl....let that be a lesson mountainboo........ never complain about brussels!
I got a Tesco delivery a couple of years ago and I got a leg of lamb and a pack of 4 toilet rolls I hadn't ordered.

The lamb was delicious btw.
hardly like to ask how the rolls tasted, tigger
I had the rolls with a rather hot curry jno ;-) Lol
I would have thought that a voucher to spend on what you wished would be more appropriate. It certainly was a nice gesture on their part.
