With remembrance Sunday approaching I wonder if the men that fought the last war feel as if they shouldn't have bothered in the light of the country being given away to virtually anybody that wants to walk in.
Just what is the thinking behind this outrage?
Why are parts of the country and certain whole towns overrun with people that are SO FAR removed from the culture of this country?
Just what exactly are the benefits of immigration?
Of course you can't say this without being called a racist, but It's not racist, it's culturist and I'm not apologising for that.
It has now gone so far that it is irreversible but it seems as if the powers that be just want to make sure.
We might as well have lost the war, we couldn't have been in a worse state than we are now.

Britain's stance on immigration has meant that it attracts the cream of the world's artists, academics and industrialists. It's the place to be, whatever field you're in.

A result of that is that we are one of the most economically propserous nations on earth with a vibrant, multicutural, innovative society that is the envy of the world.

Do you reckon we'd have attracted all those brains and all that wealth and all this culture if we were as welcoming as, say, Turkey? Or Ukraine?
The point was just to highlight that although you asked the questions it sounds as if your mind is so set that it doesn't matter how we answer.

You are anti-imigration. We could go in to lots of detail about how it's a good thing but you don't want to hear that anyway. You want to hear that your view is not in the minority and that you're right.

Well I don't think you are right and I do hope your viewpoint is in the minority. But I maintain that we can come up with all the clever arguments in the world but it's not going to change your mind.

Sweep - Australia has a very sensible immigration policy and I don't believe they have a problem with their prosperity, and for every artist, academic and industrialist that comes here there are many more that aren't quite as elevated shall we say.
And what's wrong with Turks and Ukrainians?

OK, you've changed my mind, I am wrong and you are right, I'll convert to Islam tomorrow, shoot my unclean dog and grow a beard.
the net benefits? come on!
remember the pensions black hole, aging polulation crisis, the need for more young working people. the problems are virtually solved by immigration.
also they do lots of the jobs british people don't want to do.
stop reading the daily mail.
Interesting analogy with Australia. Spend the day in London. See how many young Australians you come across who have pretty much clambered over each other at the first opportunity to spend a couple of years over here. Doesn't say much for the vibrancy of the society back home

They live here, sometimes ten to a house, where they mix only with other Aussies. Interestingly, many of them set up off-shore accounts to avoid paying tax and they squirrel away as much of their income before heading home to make the most of the weak Australian dollar. Nice of them to integrate like that. I don't know why this government allows...

Oh, hang on. They're white aren't they?
It may not be the glasses that are the problem.

Our Jake wheels out his Liberal Left views once again, while accusing certain national papers of printing rubbish.

I don't know from what papers he gets his information from, or from which political propaganda, but we are expected to believe his views, end of story.

He speaks of continued economic prosperity, try explaining that to someone living on the bread line. This country does need controlled immigration the same as any other country. What we do not need is the open door policy we now have.

These islands of ours are not big enough to take so many people. France has 289 people per square mile, but crammed into our square mile is 1007 people.

What is the good of economic prosperity, if the whole infrastructure of the country is coming crashing down on our heads, and our very standard of life is at risk.

We should only seek to welcome people that are prepared to support themselves.

Fill important job positions, not working on jobs paying low pay while big business grows even richer on their labours.

Intregrate with the idigenous population, not come to this country only to try and turn this country into a carbon copy of the country they came from.

mariner2 says "it has now gone so far that it is irreversible".
I don't think so, not if we close the gates and only let through who we want. If this goes against Europe, then so be it lets come out of Europe.

Regarding those that are not prepared to accept our way of life, then make it less easy for them to stay here. Cutting benefits, (this would work twofold it might
Very funny, like the shoes!

I don't know why you bother with these threads, all it does is exhaust the spirit!!
Too much replenishment is bad for you!
Will steer clear of this thread now, posts are getting bigger and bigger.
Ta. Those shoes are quite tame really.

Same reason you bother to erm post your views shall we say.

Too much replenishment is only bad for you if you're middle class, it says so in B&S today.
Right...I've had my toasted tea cake...funny, but they're never as nice as what you think they'd be.

Anyway:

1. Remembrance Sunday honours all those who fought for this country...and guess what? A few of those weren't white - they were from 'the colonies'. Did you know that?

2. Can you give us an overview of the government's immigration policy? Are you talking about immigration from the commonwealth countries, the expanded Europe or what?

3. Why are parts of the country and certain whole towns overrun with people that are SO FAR removed from the culture of this country?

Err...because they're from abroad. People from other countries tend to group together. Just like Europeans when they go to other countries. Did you not know that?
