if my employer terminates my contract because i cant go back to the post i'm currently in due to it making me depressed ,and cant find me an alternative post,will i be entitled to benfits ?

Yes you will be able to claim benefits of some sorts as you will have been made unemployed by the company and not made yourself unemployed by leaving. You could either claim Job seekers allowance if you are looking for another job or if your doctor thinks you are unfit for any work then you can get statutory sick pay. If you go on the DWP website it has all benefit info you need.
You may be entitled to Incapacity Benefit and if the depression is really bad, Disability Living Allowance.
If you are in a union I would suggest you seek there advise or if possible talk to your personnel officer to see if there is anything in your job that could be chnaged to allow you to carry on - i.e phased return, less responsibilty etc
