In a newspaper today it says Kate Moss is in the running for a top mum award. She's in the celebrity shortlist where as Victoria Beckham didn't even make the top 15, is this right?

Others in for the running include
Jordan, Louise Rednapp, Davina McColl, Tessa daily, Jools Oliver, Gail Porter, Patsy Kensit, Lorraine Kelly, Melanie Sykes, Sheree Murphy, Penny Lancaster, Liz Hurley.

I would like Gail Porter to win, who would be your choice?

Definitely not Kate Moss!

I think I'd go for.... Jools Oliver x

So snorting cocaine is considered a plus for celeb mums then is it?
I'd go for Louise Rednapp out of that lot, just because she's got on with the job of being a mum since she had her much wanted baby.
So being a good mum is going out with a thieving smackhead, going on three day benders, hanging out with your celeb friends in some exotic location for weeks on end (without the poor thing anywhere to be seen) and then leaving the country to avoid arrest for months once again with no sign of the poor child?
She is a moron, the 'newspaper' are morons and people who lap this stuff up are morons.
Anyway saying all that Gail Porter is great and you dont see Louise Rednapp wh***ng herself or her child to the gossip mags so they get my vote.
Jordan. She has made absolutely no mileage out of either of her children specially Harvey. If asked she is as honest as she usually is and tells it as it is,She clearly adores her boys and they come first.I have never heard a bad word against her as far as her committment as a mother is concerned.

It wouldnt suprise me if Kate Moss had took cocaine when that poor child was in her tummy :-(
"Jordan. She has made absolutely no mileage out of either of her children"

Would that be the Jordon I saw splashed all over the cover or Hello (or OK) the other day clutching her new baby.

Not saying she isn't a good mother just challenging the idea she hasn't had any "celebrity" mileage out of them.

Wowo, you beat me to it! Damn!

Not to mention the inumerable times she has splashed him across various tabloid newspapers, womans magazines, her recent books, and, one, two, three documentaries?

It's a very sad story, yes, but she has made much from it.

jordan may have surprised us all by not being the worst mother on earth as many suspected she would be, but that hardly makes her a top mum - she has done only what any mum should do.

'top' implies amazing mum not merely passable because our expectations of her were lower.
to say she should win is an insult to all the really good mums.

I quite like her, but I did a charity gig at a home for disabled children in sussex where she has been and the lady that runs the home was not over impressed with Jordan, she said Peter Andre was fantastic, but that Jordan was more interested in herself than any of the other children or indeed her son. I'm not passing judgement because I wasn't there, but I was disappointed in the story I was told.

Well Well - Quelle surprise.Dris got it wrong again.

I meant the fact she had a disabled child but didnt want to be as crass as to say that.

Wo Wo - imagine you beating stevie to belittling any opinion I have ever had - going yer self. You must have been quick off the mark

I did say Harvey and none of your pics depicted him.

Anyway - I am - like others taking a sabbatical from this because some people only read what they want to read and dont proffer an opinion - but are more interested in proving people wrong.

I did have a laugh but its tedious now - I'm almost reluctant to post for fear of one person in particular seeing only me as fair game- even if others have posted with the same opinion.

I dont like swipes - I just like a healthy debate and a laugh.

Just for the record its not you joko I'm referring to.

Its Stevie - he has latterly paraphrased me and brought me down and it has been deliberate and he knows it.Others had the same opinion but it was me who was targetted.I thought he was a friend but it just goes to show we are all sitting ducks.

Dont bother anyone trying to take the p!ss because I wont come back.We all have lives outside AB and just sometimes it was a nice way to escape.

jeez, calm down girl!

you must have realised that saying jordan is mum of the year you would be pulled up on it!!

yes, she's better than we'd all expected her to be when we heard she was pregnant, but thats not enough to warrant an award, thats just what she should do anyway as a mother.

you are right, she does love her sons but so do all mums (and she is human) but thats just not enough.

she may be an ok mum, given our low expectations, but she's hardly what you would call good - just not bad.

also, do you know the names of ALL the children of the above list of finalists? do you know any in fact? could you pick them out of lineup? I have no idea of most of them and i read plenty of mags.

don't know if you've got history with those two guys, but i don't think they said anything too bad and it seemed they were more just shocked at the very idea of jordan as mum of the year and that she doesn't use her kids for publicity.

they would have reacted the same to anyone who had said that

don't take it so personally.

...and breathe, and relax.
DG, you must be a direct descendent from a Viking warrior! Never have I known anyone so guaranteed to go from nought to incandescent rage at the slightest provocation. No wonder its hard to resist waving a match in the direction of your touch paper. Weve sparred on here long enough to know its never malicious, so stop with the self-righteous paranoid persecution drama. Doesnt it ever embarrass you to read it later?
Seriously are you mad because your feeling got at, or is it because your angry at posting your support of Jordan before thinking about at realistically first?
The voice of reason says, step away from the keyboard when under the influence of alcohol or anger, lest your temper causes you to indelibly post your rage for all to see.
I can give you the names of some good cafes in Amsterdam, trust me you should visit one or two. Ill even buy you a cake. ;)
Why do 'celebrities' get awards for doing the everyday things that we 'mere mortals' do? People bring up children all the time and don't get awards for it, so why should they? Being in the public eye does not make a better parent!

The problem with celebrity mum (or dad) of the year award is that any parent that allows their children to be used as media fodder can hardly be described as a 'good' parent.

The criteria should start with, vehemently protects their children from the media glare but I don't read "'Heat", or "'Now", or "'Sh!te" so I've no idea which (if any) of the above mothers fit that criteria.

My award for "Top Mum" would go to my own mother who is sadly is no longer alive.

None of those listed have cleaned up my vomit when I was a sick child, wiped my tears & hugged me when I got jilted, stayed up all night sewing a posh dress, for a special occasion, denied herself something to raise the money for me and a hundred and one other things too numerous to mention.

WendyS, your mum would be incredibly proud of you for what you wrote!! x

I'm with Kathyan on this one....I would have thought motherhood was infinately easier for a celebrity mum....nannies, flexible working hours and loads of money!!
