I feel for this woman but this troubles me.  Did any of the victims of Greenfell get anything like that amount of compensation?  The bereaved relatives, the injured?  The emergency responders?

This level of compensation must make it difficult for companies to make the decision to sack employees.

She was unfairly treated and deserves to be compensated.  The hr team needs to be suitably punished.

It is difficult to not equate her payment against the money paid to the survivors.

The two issues are completely separate.

Scandalously ridiculous amount awarded by knobheads who are giving other people’s money recklessly away.

Our Taxes.

No wonder councils are going bust:

a) six figure salaries for non-jobs

b) a ridiculous settlement

// her role as director of public service reform //

??????????

I do think compensation for unfair dismissal should be capped at x times salary.

DAVEBRO, what was Ms Wright-Turner's job description?

Question Author

Corby, this is the job description for assistant director with a different council, it will give you an idea

https://councildecisions.bury.gov.uk/documents/s22521/App%203%20FInal%20Assistant%20Director%20of%20PSR.pdf

Maybe she will share it with some of the victims she worked with?

I don't think anyone, however caring or intelligent, could even begin to justify this payout. It's utterly disgraceful.

She asked for justice for her wrongful dismissal. She didn't ask for £4.6M and a record payout does seem excessive in the circumstances.

Most of these claims are driven by no win no fee lawyers, the cowboy outfits if you like, a good example is the cash cows who defend immigrants. I wounder how much it has cost the council to try and defend this action? on top of the payout.

Thanks for that BARRY.

Given that he had described the position as a, "non-job" I assumed DAVEBRO had looked into the duties of the position.

Why is a council chief on £125k a year anyway ? No wonder the thieving immoral councils are forever demanding my pension from me each year !

Is the judgment ( 'determination') available in public?

The judge ( tribunal chair) found that council officers had lied in evidence - oo-er Mrs !

Question Author

Not yet, PP, but I'm sure you know where to find it

having council officer lie in their attempts to get rid of you is always going to make things a lot worse.

She can donate her own money to anyone she pleases; no doubt pious ABers have given their own to the people they've suggested.
