Watching GB news this morning I caught them in the middle of a chat about police performance. Eamonn said he drives a very expensive car, and on his way into work this morning at 4am he was stopped by an unmarked police car, with blue lights flashing. The officer said that his kind of car is a target, and were making sure it wasn't stolen. Emonn carried on to say this was the third time he had been stopped for this reason and didn't mind at all, as it showed the police are doing their job. First off what a stupid thing to say on air that you drive an expensive car. 2nd, you would think after being stopped 3 times the local police would know who's driving that car at 4pm. Good use of police time or not?? Silly thing to state that your car is an expensive one on air??

Why?  Any half wit would guess he had a decent motor - just like many others.

Different Rozzers.

It's quite obvious that well-off celebs will usually drive expensive motors (also live in expensive house & have more than usual amount of expensive fripperies) admitting it isn't really giving out any more info to would-be robbers.

Yes - you might think the cops would be wise to him by now.

did he say what the jam jar was?

There are those on here who like to make it clear they drive expensive cars.

There are picrures of him picking up a cracking Bentley TTT.

Jealous, or just having a pop at other ABers?

He don't seem well to me, and tends to slip up a lot on air. Mind you 4pm starts must get to you sooner or later.

Couldn't the dealer have cleaned off the pidgeon poo off the bonnet ?

He is a year older than me.

I certainly would not want to be getting up at that time, especially with the spot light on me all the time as they all get these days.

4am is 4 in the morning, 4 pm is 4 in the afternoon. I assume your 4pm's should say 4am

why is it a stupid thing to say.  Any normal person can look at a car and tell if it's an expensive car or not surely?  After all that's what the police must be doing when they stop him

Can't stand the arrogant twit, think he is one of the worst presenters ever on tv.

Question Author

@11.04am. Yes 4am

Question Author

11.10 Not that keen on him myself but it does take a lot of motivation to spend years getting up at that time in a morning regardless of his great earnings over that time. But his performance on TV now is very sluggish. Maybe time to call it a day? Could be that its just as hard to give up the money rewards.

I was stopped by the police in town once when out for a run at about 4.30 am. I thought it was quite funny. And understandable.

Much as I am not a fan of Holmes though, I don't think he said anything untoward: unless he had mentioned the car (and who guessed EH didn't drink a clapped-out Honda) there'd have been no point mentioning it. And it won't always be the same police.

I find your post hard to swallow, Ich😉.

Yes, i know, predictive text.
