Not excusing the disgraceful invasion of a fundraising event, but it was a major mistake politicising the role of Police and Crime Commissioners.

Cameron and May pushed this through in 2011, and ever since, the important role of overseeing the Police has gone to failed politicians from either side.

Ben Adams, for whom the fundraiser was for his election campaign, is a several times failed Conservative parliamentary candidate. Hence political protestors think this was a legit target.

Do you think that the abolished police authorities should still be the watchdogs instead? Unelected and swearing no oath of impartiality, but pushed into power by their own community in the local force? A sort of military sahria law like body that only answers to internal protocol? Though so.
