Forget the Establishment commentariat view that Trump is ‘crazy’, or a ‘threat to democracy’.

 Just consider Trump’s record.

During his first term, the Beijing-Moscow-Tehran-Pyongyang axis, and its terrorist clients, were on their very best behaviour.

The US border was secure against massive waves of crime-gang-controlled unverified illegal immigration that Biden has unconstitutionally imposed on the US. (A Stuart King was beheaded for less.)

Beijing was forced to abandon its breaches of trade law and massive theft of intellectual property.

In the face of climate catastrophism ideology that only enriches Beijing, Trump was the first global leader with the courage not only to declare that the climate emperor has no clothes, he withdrew the US from the Paris Accords.

In addition, not only did Trump stand out as a President who started no new wars, he destroyed ISIS, and brought peace to the Middle East through the Abraham Accords between Israel and Muslim states.

When Biden announces he won't be standing (it's going to happen) who will stand for his party?

Ha ha you don't seriously think that is going to happen do you? I wasn't going to follow tomus and call you naive but I fear I must.

"When Biden announces he won't be standing (it's going to happen) who will stand for his party?"

A good question: there isn't anyone remotely in the running: he trails Haley by 17 points in one poll - and also Trump of course. There might come a point where the men in grey suits - should they exist - decide to act

They can't let him stand. The more Trump looks like winning the more it will focus the minds of those behind him.

(Forgive me for not mentioning his party, I can never remember which ones are Republican and which are Democrat. Surely Trump can come under the title democrat with his record)

I make no apology for repeating a mantra I got from another forum "Attack the post, not the poster"

Remember what the great Iron Lady said,"If they attack one personally, it means they have not a single political argument left."

Blimey Canary

"The great lady"

Are you TTT in disguise?

Youre 3 months early for April fool!!

Trump is not a Democrat!

Thank you canary, at least you do not stand along with the pusillanimous cohort.

What's your answer ichi ?

TBH i dont really know why anyone here cares who the US president is.  USA can no longer claim to be leaders of the free world when their president (at the time) admitted that they didnt have democracy and that their elections are rigged.  Rather in the manner of some african dictatorship, perhaps UN overseers should be sent in to monitor their next elections?

"What's your answer ichi ?"

What's my answer to what?

On the US election, no need to send observers from the UN - who I might remind you have my members like Eritrea pronouncing on human rights etc. Conversely I have a lot more faith in US  democracy after 2020 that I did before. There was so much scrutiny and coverage what with all the accusations flying around that you could  really see how it worked

"I make no apology for repeating a mantra I got from another forum "Attack the post, not the poster""

I was attacking the post. Obviously 😂

Is anyone else finding this site running very slowly just now?

I answered khandro's question about Trump bringing peace to Ukraine in the best way I could, the idea is hopelessly naive: in what universe does anyone think that could happen?? The man is all talk: as Alicia Kearns reminds us in that Hard Talk interview the Trump administration actually habe arms to Ukraine (when Trump wasn't trying to blackmail Zelensky). Sometimes it seems he just says the first thing that comes into his head. Merkel orchestrated a "deals" with Putin in 2014 and 2015. They were called Minsk I and II. They didn't stop the vampire seeking more blood. So it would be in 2025. You can't negotiate a settlement with those sorts of people in that sort of war, which is not a territorial dispute but an imperialist war of conquest as Hitler's was for example.

Answering Roy @ 11:35. I tend to agree, Biden is also an inappropriate candidate, and far to old and doddering to be allowed to run. He only gets in by not being Trump. Let's be fair, neither of the old perverts should be allowed anywhere near the White House.

Yes Ichk.  Takes ages to open a thread etc.  Getting worse I think.

To my question at 13:28, in brief, do you wish the war to continue indefinitely regardless to loss of life & limb ?

Like him or not, I believe Trump could be a peace broker.

As you know from these threads, I detest Putin, & my heart would like nothing more that see him lose everything he has illegally attempted to gain.

But my head tells me that, reluctantly this may be unrealistic, & in the end a compromise must be reached. Putin has already lost, in that he has tanked his country's economy,  lowered himself and it in the estimation of the world and now has NATO on his border, the very thing he didn't want.

I would rather the Republicans won, without Trump leading it, than the Democrats won by beating Trump.

Why? Because if Trump is even on the ballot after what happened three years ago, then America is severely screwed up.

We all want peace khandro but sometimes a party has no option but to fight for its own survival. You cannot negotiate with that: Putin will negotiate seriously only from a position of extreme weakness and just now he thinks he isn't in that position. His whole economy is now focused on war: something like 40% of spending is going into it. Meanwhile Ukraine fights to survive and must be backed  to spearhead the further destruction of the Russian military machine. Otherwise we may all suffer. As for Trump being a peacemaker: he is not trusted by Ukraine after his antics on a previous visit; Zelensky invited him to Kyiv and he declined to do. I suspect Putin regards him as a useful idiot. So not the best state of affairs. The whole idea sounds like a vanity project on his part - rather like the pantomime with that other monster Kim. Which didn't really achieve anything either.

"Putin has already lost, in that he has tanked his country's economy,  lowered himself and it in the estimation of the world and now has NATO on his border, the very thing he didn't want. "

The economy hasn't tanked - yet (it will).

Unfortunately he hasn't lowered himself in the estimation of the world, least of all it would seem in the eyes of Trump himself, but more generally many unsavoury regimes look up to him all the more. We still make the mistake of arrogantly thinking Putin cares what we in the west think of him. Plainly he does not care at all. And as for Nato being on his border? That was never the issue: in fact having Nato on his border probably helps him present the alliance as being a threat, this creating a convenient siege mentality. We are winning nonetheless: ultimately we are the ones in a position of strength.
