"If she insisted that the Palestine protest must not go ahead this weekend but could take place next weekend "

She didn't tho did she: yet another thing she "didn't do". Like all the other things. Not sure she had the power anyway to do that.

She showed that talk is cheap. Undermining the police was probably the final straw

David Cameron who set the wheels in motion to destabilise this country, who then ran away, is now back in the government. Good grief, he could become Prime Minister again. What has the country done to deserve this nonsense?

I have a different vue of DC than you do Vulcan - he gave the people what they asked for - he didn't agree with the outcome and knew he could not deliver it to the best of his ability so he left.

IMO he did nothing wrong.

Well I think he was one of the worst PMs in recent times. He put an EU referendum in a manifesto against the advice of many, not thinking he'd have to call one rho probably emboldened by winning the Scottish referendum. It was simply a sop to try to buy off the party's  right wing. Then what did he do? After years of slagging off the EU he went to Brussels boasting he'd get this and that concession  and returned with an excellent deal but compromised by having raised expectations. Remember what the polls were after that? Seven percent majority for Leave.

Having said that, compared to the loonies who hijacked the party after 2019, David Cameron will be an experienced breath of "fresh" air.

Will he get a peerage?

Oh he already has one

he was given it this morning ichkeria he didn't have one before!

This appointment is an embarrassment to the government.... or it should be.  Cameron has already demonstrated that when the going gets tough the ineffectual get going.

"he was given it this morning ichkeria he didn't have one before!"

Thats what I meant.

I thought Cameron would desert politics and public service but I was wrong. He is ba k at a very difficult time for the Tories. And Sunak has shown his authority at last. Fair play to both

Sunak hasn't shown his authority.  He's bowed to pressure.

No I very much disagree. If there's pressure it comes equally from both sides and he in a situation like that it's often easier to do nothing. And this looks like a major reshuffle which has been planned for a while. And Therese Coffey is out ...

Who was the last ex-PM to come back as a minister btw? Was a long time ago ....

If you defy your boss in any job you can really only expect one outcome. He requested her to be more diplamatic in her written article, he was left with very little option.

Cameron? my view is scrapaping the barrel for surival, very sad to see.

Think is Ick, what you think kida isnt much.  Not being rude but lets face it you wouldnt vote Tory ever would you?

Its the opinion of who votes(or would vote) that matters and they clearly dont agree with you.

Despite what I said before I think it's a good move. Tho it doesn't say much for the parliamentary talent pool

"lets face it you wouldnt vote Tory ever would you"

I might not but when the Daily Telegraph turns against you then your time is probably up. It's very insulting to Tory voters to think they all or even most will oppose this sacking. She's a very unpopular figure with most voters - it's only among a particularly narrow constituency that she's seen as some sort of hero

Well I disagree, and I am a staunch Tory.

I will NOT be voting for him at the next election and that is what eally matters.  Like I say you would never vote for him so...

I might

I think we need a change but I think you might find Sunak's approval ratings at least rise a little.

We'll say

//it's only among a particularly narrow constituency that she's seen as some sort of hero //

You may want that to be, but it simply isnt true.  She is disliked amongst the TINO's but true conservatives saw her as a breath of fresh air to bring the Party back (Along with Kemi of course).

You sound a bit like a mirror image of the Corbynite left. Who all thought they were the "real Labour" party.

Its the voters at large who count

It was Alec Douglas Home whose footsteps 53 years ago Cameron is following

If you defy your boss in any job you can really only expect one outcome.

after a very long period of thought ( pencil in mouth etc) I accused my boss of perjury - and survived. ( he had).

and um no - it wasnt this
