I was hoping someone would put out an explainer.

Very useful for those who want an understanding of how we got to where we are today.

I simply cannot believe anyone wants to still live there, especially Gaza. Children are frequently the victims so why anyone would risk bringing a child into the world whilst living there beggars belief.

gazans are not permitted to leave zacs and have not been allowed to do so for many years without obtaining an exit permit

Thanks, untitled, I didn't know that.

I heard on the radio that there are 2.4 million Gazans living in a space the size of the Isle of Wight.

Gaza has only been blockaded since Hamas took in over following the election in 2006. Egypt effectively bockades it too.

That, really, only reinforces my question as to why people would risk having children there.

People live and breed.

Wherever they may be.

Zacs, if Gazans didn't have children, they would be committing national suicide, and I don't know of anything like that having happened in history. (Perhaps the Essenes at Masada, but that was to avoid being massacred by Romans).

Indeed. We are a strange species.

I am so glad you posted this!  Thankyou

You're welcome Countrylover.

Really pleased with it myself.

It dispels an assumption that I had (I thought this had only been going on since the end of WWII).

In fact as the film indicates most people wrongly think this is a centuries-old conflict.

Up until WWII Zionism was rejected by many Jews. Understandably the Holocaust changed that

The legacy of Nazi Germany, eh.

I knew it because my clever hubby had explained years ago.  A very balanced video.

Well balanced!

The ordinary Palestinian civilians have to start taking the Hamas terrorists to task.If the Hamas terrorists didnt start this kraap then there would be no dead innocent Palestinians. The mad IRA terrorist bastrads were eventually beaten, the mad terrorist bastrads of Hamas can be beaten also.

Having seen what Hamas are like, is it likely that the ordinary Gazan would be able to stand up to them?

ynna ; //The ordinary Palestinian civilians have to start taking the Hamas terrorists to task.//

Hamas won the 2006 Palestinian elections and gained a majority of seats in the legislative council. It did so as an open terrorist organisation sworn to the extermination of Israel. Though no legislative elections have been held since, the most recent polling shows Hamas 12 points in the lead among residents of Gaza and roughly neck-and-neck with Fatah when West Bank Palestinians are included. When all Palestinians are asked their preferred president, Hamas’s Ismail Haniyeh enjoys a 21-point lead over Fatah incumbent Mahmoud Abbas. Hamas are hardly shining examples of democratic legitimacy but they are who the people of Gaza have chosen to lead them and would choose again if asked tomorrow.

Then Israel is about to help them. The ordinary Palestinians are oppressed by Hamas as well.Hamas use palestinian women and children as human shields. Israel is doing Palestinians a favour.

Probably not Atheist. The Hamas Terrorist bastrads, just like the IRA terrorist bastrads know that any dissent is met by methods last used by Hitlers Nazis.
