Yes.

I suppose it's a start.

Although it's Wootton, double-T - like cancelled, double-L 😉

No. I thought that he was suspended prior to an investigation.

woke nutters at the cancellation tripe again.

History will expose these disgusting hypocrites one day.

Who are you talking about?  GB News, the Daily Mail or somebody else?

I echo Ellipsis' question...who exactly are the "woke nutters" here???

Dan Wooton is not malicious.

I accept he's naturally right of centre, which in of itself is cause for cancellation nowadays, but he's not malicious.

What Laurence Fox said was entirely wrong (and false by the way - she's stunning), but I don't see why Wooten has been cancelled.

At this stage he has been cancelled, as you put it, by the Daily Mail, well known for being woke,  so more to it than just this one show. If you listen to him on GBNews then I find it hard to not see him as malicious.

i think it's utterly wrong that LF has apologised tody - it's far too late, and basically signals he wants to keep his job, not that he's sorry he was such a dick. i rather like the X user who suggested that he shouldnt be cncelled, but that he should nly be allowed to comment in themedia for what he's famous for (now) - whether he'd shag whoever it is he's being asked to comment om

DW i feel rather more sorry for (and at least he apologised quickly).  I suppose themail think he is more a liabiltty than an asset ATM and are ding their best to protect their bottom line.  I expect he'll be back

It might've been down to the way that he threw Fox under a bus.

He wrote a tweet where he said that he "wants to be clear that I was in no way amused byt the comments".

So Fox then shared a message thar Wootton sent him:

And rememeber Wootton was already under suspension from the Mail. He'd been suspemded since the summer obver allegatopns that he sent sexually explicit messages to former colleagues using a pseudonym.

So he's been sacked by the Mail (not "woke") and suspended from GB News (also not "woke").

I see my keyboard is playing up as much as bednobs'

although it's sideways fingers in my case!

The Daily Mail suspended Dan Wootton in August.

"Dan Wootton has been suspended by MailOnline after allegations emerged that he used a pseudonym to secretly offer his colleagues tens of thousands of pounds in return for sexual material.               ...                Wootton is also under investigation by his former employers at Rupert Murdoch’s News UK, where he worked for more than a decade as a celebrity journalist. The company has hired an external law firm to investigate claims Wootton targeted current and former Sun employees with offers of money in return for explicit images."

It sounds like they were looking for an excuse to get rid anyway, and this was a good opportunity.

From what i can remember from Twitter,Fox claims to be a transexual and also a person of colour.Might be a big compensation claim coming soon?

If Fox claims to be trans and a person of colour then he is taking the p out of the system.

I'm a tortoise and anyone disagreeimg with that is unfairly oppressing me.

I think that's his point Hopkirk. Anyone can claim to be anything these days so that's what he's doing.

Still a twart though.

Since he had done nothing nor said anything offensive, to act against him sounds like the usual cancel culture type act that newspaper  should be expected to be against. Blotted their copybook badly there.

That's the difficult thing about offensiveness OG. It's not just you that gets to decide what it is. Lots of people would say that he has said something offensive.
