how will the judge...

jury selection is much more of a la-la stateside than it is here. The end points are the same: unbiassed jury that will decide the issue on facts presented un court.

The run around is much greater, and the gadgets both sides can play with, more numerous. Peremptory refusal and refusal for reason, questionnaires.

The judge can also run a ghost jury and take members to fill up the usual jury if there are excusals half way thro

It's a good question. In most cases they go through an interview process and the prosecution and defence get to reject anyone they don't like.

Given that everyone in the US either loves or hates Trump and is going to vote one way or another irrespective of any evidence, it will be an interesting process.
