Had the Ukrainians wished to assassinate Putin, well he is the evil head of an evil government who would benefit the world were he gone, so no one sane would be surprised. But it seems a waste of effort trying to hit one of his doubles instead of concentrating on the front line. After all, it's not like these sort of regimes are short of replacement leaders. No. The chances are it was an internal to Russia group, or maybe an individual, who felt they had to do something about what their nation were doing. Alternatively it could even be a Russian op hoping to gain some benefit by claiming a failed attempt was made.

Looking at it, I'm inclining that it is a fake by Russia to justify more aggressive tactics. Hard to believe that the drone could have been seen so clearly and the flare seemed to hit a dome - surely Putin wasn't living up there. All very tricky these days. The Russian apologist was having an apoplexy screaming that 'You are lying' to the reporter.

For one thing: there was no inkling of anything happening until hours later suddenly these video appeared convenient capturing a perfect view.
Question is why?
Excuse to cancel the May 9 parade is favourite. Excuse to assassinate Zelensky? They don’t need one despite the bloodcurdling rhetoric.
Anyway Zelensky isn’t there.
There were reports nuclear warheads had been deployed at western Russian airbases but the US denies Russia has out its strategic nuclear forces on alert.
